We finally discovered who killed the Tiste Edur on the Silanda!!! I suspected that they were trapped in the same flooded warren but it didn't connect entirely until Torvald started stuffing the heads into the sealskins. This is pretty awesome stuff!
Seriously, how awesome is the unlikely friendship of Karsa and Torvald. I absolutely loved how Torvald will just keep talking and talking (and he is so hilarious).. and Karsa will just say "Too many words" or "You talk too much".
Karsa Orlong - I didn't really enjoy the first chapter very much - talk about being misguided. Very intrigued about who the fake Seven Gods really are, and the true legacy of the Teblors.

Does anyone no who the Keeper is? Gotta love a mysterious character.

And finding out Torvald is Rallick's cousin, I always liked that.
As for Keeper, that's an interesting one. I won't say who he is, but I will say he has ties to a character that was in Deadhouse Gates briefly, that as far as I can recall, no one commented on in those threads haha. He is OG.
And if you liked Keeper, wait till you meet the REAL mystery character of this book.

I think I know which character you meant in Deadhouse Gates. Not sure if this is a spoiler as it refers to a past character but nonetheless (view spoiler)

Haha good eye.
Yeah, this was a good chapter to be sure! I have to say I adore the unlikely friendship between Karsa and Torvald. I think that Torvald teaching Karsa about the ways of the world and being there for him is so sweet to see and I also love the way that Karsa just says 'too many words' etc as TS noted.
Those 'fake' gods that Karsa has is certainly interesting and filling in the blanks about the Silandra is also pretty cool. I like that we're following a parallel story to the other books as we read this one and whilst at first we don;t know exactly what it is, now clearer connections are starting to appear.
I will admit that I didn't entirely pick up on who Keeper is, but reading TS's comment I now fully understand and remember learning about him a bit before. Very cool how all these chaacters and connections are constantly coming back into the story.
Overall, a really heartwarming chapter at times in terms of the friendship forming, but equally some somewhat unbelievable and crazy moments (e.g the shark bit!) I did love the sentiments behind Karsa chasing after the Shark, but it felt a bit shoe-horned in to show us just how epic a character we're following.
Pretty cool though! :)

Can't wait for Gesler and the crew to reappear. I still get the feeling they are going to be major players down the track.
