Happy 2024! I hope everyone's new year is off to a smooth start. We have A Crown of Snow and Ice by Melanie Cellier as our book of the month. Can't wait to see eveveryone's thoughts on this one.

I remember this book was really riveting and intense the first time I read it. I could not put it down. Rereading it, it’s still intense, but now that I knew what happened, I was torn whenever I reached the part where (view spoiler). I still enjoy this book even after rereading and love Celine’s fiery nature and her relationship with Oliver. She finally got her adventure!

Which late godmother gift do you think you’d get?

What was everyone’s favorite scene from this one?

My answers below:
I’d like to think I’d be able to teleport because I’m always late or forgetting things, but I don’t think that represents my true nature. Or does it? Lol

My favorite was (view spoiler)

I listened to the audiobook in 2020 and I loved it. I have not reread it (yeah I know, for shame! lol) so I'm not going to give a review. I'm just here to say that I thought it was super exicting and fast paced enough for me. I loved the Celine's supernatural power and oh...I'm sorry for being super cheesy, also remind me if I am correct, did Celine at one point slap Oliver? ...this bit of teenage drama cracked me up, lol. I really have to read this one again. :)

I would have loved to see this one as a movie, but that's never going to happen. (Meaning: I'm a weirdo when it comes to books, what I like and want to see as a movie, isn't what the marjority want).

Anyhow, I thought this was my first Melanie Cellier book but when I checked goodreads just now, I saw that it was A Dream of Ebony and White, a book I thought was an adorable version of snow white.

And oh, I really miss this book club by the way.

Welcome back Fridey! It's hearing your thoughts on books again. No shame in not rereading. We're just here to share on thoughts on the books. :)

I would also love to see this in a movie. I'm the same as you, I'd be a devoted fan of the movie that no one really knows about lol. A Dream of Ebony and White was amazing honestly. I need to reread that one now.

We've missed having you in the book club. It's nice seeing you swing by again :)

Aaaw thank you 😊❤️

You mentioned teleporting. Oh yeah, I need this, I have family "everywhere" (i.e. different countries). It would be great to be able to instantly transport myself to any family member or friend anywhere in the world

Flying would also be awesome.

(I mistakenly used the word "super power" earlier when I meant gift, lol. I have a cold so I wasn't thinking straight. 😁)

Lol no worries. I hope you feel better soon. I didn’t even think about visiting family! I have family all over too. It would be awesome to be able to see them more often. Plus free plane tickets lol.

Would you rather your gift be teleporting or flying? I would rather mine be teleporting because I have a fear of heights. Flying and feeling the wind would be so fun, but knowing me I’d crash into a bus or something lol. Then again, I could also teleport and crash into someone so I’ll go with the one that gives me less motion sickness haha

Fridey | 283 comments I'm not a fan of heights either, but flying must be so liberating and fun. But I'll choose teleporting because I'd get so much more out of it, and also, you can easily bring stuff with you, pop in and out without breaking a sweat, lol. Maybe even teleport your friends and family members with you to any place in the world for FREEEE. :)

Flying does sound amazing. Imagine flying with allergies in spring though lol. I'd chose teleporting too because it seems we humans aren't built to fly. Teleporting is safer and less likely to make my eyes water.

For free! Man, that would be incredible. Beat mind reading 100%. I don't need to know what other people are thinking. My brain in crowded enough with my own thoughts thank you.

Fridey | 283 comments 😂 Lauging at "flying with allergies". Yeah I'm imagined it and it cracked me up.

Mind reading? No thank you, I do not want to know what other people are constantly thinking. Teleporting is the winner here. 😊

Absolutely! Either that or being able to find anything I need to. I feel like I can turn being able to locate things into a huge profit. Can't find your keys? Call me and I'll tell you where they are for $30 dollars! Or you can sleep in the cold :D

Fridey | 283 comments lol, lol, lol!!! That's so funny, never thought of locating stuff. I like this idea, can be done anywhere and you don't need any specific working hours.

Lol! It'd be awesome. You could be anything from a bounty/treasure hunter to a private investigator to locating missing people. You'd have a huge edge
