The Challenge Factory discussion

Challenge Duration: February 10, 2024 through January 28, 2025

This challenge will run during the Chinese dates of the Year of the Dragon. Books must be started by January 28, 2025 to count.
There are seven prompts, each with five possible tasks. None of the tasks will be spell outs. Books should be at least 140 pages. Choose your level of participation:

Levels:
Dragon Scale - a defensive body part. I'll try 1-2 tasks per level.
Dragon Wing - supported at four places on the body and typically larger than the dragon's body. Sign me up for 3-4 tasks per level.
Dragon Fire - the dragon's weapon. I'll go for all 5 tasks per level.

I'll be cautious & sign up for Dragon Scale.

I'll live dangerously and go for Dragon Fire.

I've heard my fellow mods say this in our AMMP mod group and I had the same problem when it first started but most of last year, I didn't have the problem. I was creating a bunch of threads for a challenge every other month last year and again in January. Each thread took me probably around 5 minutes to create (maybe longer) - I wonder if that is why, since I wasn't creating them super quick right in a row. Maybe something to test...

Oh, and I'd like to play too! Dragon's Wing, please!

Before I commit to participate, could you explain a little more what this means, "There are seven prompts, each with five possible tasks." ?

What do you mean by prompts? And does each prompt have up to five tasks, but what do you mean by tasks? And do we have to complete all tasks per each prompt?

Prompts mean it is an interactive challenge - so the first prompt gives you just 5 tasks. When you finish enough of those (based on the level you choose), I send you the next prompt.

Tasks require you to read a book to complete. It might be a kind of character you are looking for, a page length of a book, an author's initials, etc.

Threads done and linked through Rissa. I have checked links but let me know if there is anything wrong. Busy day here so I'll get to the rest as I can.

And yes, Viji, I am happy to move people to a different level if they find they want to do more or less.

LaurLa - I tried to see if the new thread creation would let me do it, say, every half hour or anything under an hour. Nope. Very frustrating.
