here's the trouble and I have no idea how to fix it:
There's a well known series of Arabic translations for Chekhov's selected works divided into 4 books. The early editions were published by a Soviet (russian) publish house and then were republished by an Egyptian publisher who changed which short stories or novels every book contains.

how to separate these editions from each other? and is there a way to connect a book with another book contained in it? like a novel for Chekhov with a book that contains this novel among others?

So the books with the green covers are by the Russian publisher and contain other works than the Egyptian publisher's books? In that case they need to be separated, which can only be done by a librarian.

Are both series named the Arabic equivalent of Selected Works? If so, the old and new editions can perhaps remain in the same series together, if they can be properly distinguished from each other.

As far as I know, separate works and books containing several works cannot be linked. Of course, the description of the omnibus may state the titles of the works included.

yes for the covers, the whole selected works are the same in the 4 books, but the ones in the 3rd book of the russian edition - for example - are different from those in the Egyptian edition. still it's the same translator.
In that case they need to be separated, which can only be done by a librarian.
I am a librarian but I don't how to do it. The two series can be combined as to editions of the series but not every single book. except for the 4th book which contains the plays of Chekhov in both editions.

I accidentally combined 3 of my books because I didn't understand how the 'combine' worked when what I really wanted to do was set a newer book cover as default. I figured out the default, but now have three books combined that shouldn't be.

Autumn Bliss and Autumn Kiss need to be separated and every time I select the 'separate tool' link, it does nothing. Can someone explain how to separate these books?

Only librarians (well and staff of course) can separate books. But don't feel bad, everyone here has done this at least once, and I suspect from how often it's posted, most authors have too :)

Anyway, fixed now, although it may take a few hours for the reviews to rearrange to the right places due to site caching.

I thought I was a librarian, but maybe I'm mistaken in that.
