Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I like this story a little more, but there are still a lot of similarities to Eve and Roarke. I'm hoping now that Scotty is in their lives, some of those similarities will lessen.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1808 comments After answering these questions, it has become clear to me that I have issues with Force's plotting and characterization.

The similarities with Eve and Roarke are not lessening and the lack of originality is problematic.

Moreover, there is too much drama and angst for a romantic suspense series. The fertility storyline, the Gibson/Hill obsessions and Patricia elements are excessive.

Finally, the police procedural elements need work.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Totally agree with Lauren.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I agree Lauren. Force is a romance author trying to enter the romantic suspense field. So far it isn’t working.

Understand your points of view. I do remember some things that come later so I’ll leave it at that for now. I appreciate you sticking with it for the potential for improvement. This story (sans the Hill/Patrice elements) was a leap forward.

I am enjoying the characters and the cases overall, and I am sure Force will come into her own as the series progresses. I am willing to give her a chance to do that.
