I'm a big fan of Roy Scheider so Roy-related trivia comes easier to me than for most. Sorry.
I will try to make some more generic trivia throwdowns. You acquitted yourself well!

John Carpenter's super-violent 'Assault on Precinct 13' (1976) was a story based on what 1950s William Holden western?
Bonus: name two submarine movies with the word 'Assault' leading off the title.

No one ever seems to nail my go-to trivia killer question:
What well-known English actor appears in BOTH 'The Day of the Jackal' AND 'The Spy Who Came in from the Cold' ???
I don't know how many clues I've given out for this one so far. It seems to stump everyone.

Noooo. These roles I'm referring to are bit-parts; cameos. The characters are key figures in the plot; just brief.
The actor was a significant name in 50s cinema; also possessed a Shakespearian background; so not at all an unknown like Fox. Yet there he is, playing two minor roles in these two espionage flicks.

During the filming of 'The Great Escape'; Charles Bronson met the wife of one of his co-stars in that movie. Immediate attraction bloomed; they began an affair, and she wound up divorcing her husband and leaving her kids for him. Who was that humiliated husband?
Cphe, you know I've asked some of these in my other groups--don't spill the beans! Mind, now!

How about I take a big risk and lay down a gauntlet?

I'll go so far as to say I can answer any 12 classic action-film trivia questions in a row before stumbling.
Meanwhile, I can easily pose 20 trivia questions no one here will be able to answer.
p.s. I don't use Google or Wikipedia. Take me on! I'd be happy to lose rather than be bored

How bout a Cyril Cusak
Wow! Two hits, two wins!
You amaze me. You've been hiding your light under a bushel, my man!
You're exactly right on both counts. Yes indeed, Cyril Cusak--none other! An actor memorable to all of us who ever viewed Francois Truffaut's 'Fahrenheit 451'--of course.
He played the gunsmith in 'Jackal' and he played 'Control' (aging spy boss over Richard Burton's Alec Leamas) in 'Cold'!!
Both very juicy little parts. I can't fathom how this went unanswered so long.
Hurrah!!

Name an edgy, menacing-seeming actor (usually cast as villains) who starred opposite Roy Scheider in two of his action flicks. Name the films, as well.
