Jane (PS) | 24334 comments 1. Introduce yourself to your team. Let your team members know where you are from. This is a 'nice to know' when categories are announced and when team-mates can expect other members to post their book choices.

2. Tour Guide (Captain) - reserve a couple of posts in this thread tracking your team's book selection and completion. (Alternatively they could convert a chat comment to the tracking post/s.)

3. Name your team. Using this round's theme, come up with a fun name. Given we are an open/public group with no age limit, so please make sure any chosen name is smart, not smutty ;)

Please PM your name to Jane(PS) by 4 April

4. If you have a private profile, please 'friend' your team-mates. This is really important, because without this, your team-mates can't see your shelves to select a books under option 2. (It will also help with one of the categories in this round!)

5. Please post your book selections/completions in the format provided below. (This format is also posted in both the Q&A and Sign-Up threads.) We need to know the week that each book corresponds to, the page numbers, and how the book qualifies including links to lists/shelves (where applicable), etc. I can't stress this enough. When in doubt - link it*!

* don't link to your review in your completion post - reviews in your completion posts should be included in full in that post.

You don't want to start reading a book and then find it doesn't meet the requirements because some information (eg page count or theme link) was missing from your original post.

I will be monitoring this and your book will not be considered complete until I am satisfied that your selection and completion posts comply with the format rules of the challenge.

Remember - you can ONLY change your book selection in the week that the theme is called.

6. You MUST check in with your team each week, ideally once the theme is announced. Please let your team know if you expect to have spotty communication or are on holidays or having an operation, etc.

7. When you post the completion of your book, you must post a review; enough for us to know you have actually read the book. Please don't link to a review. You must post the review in this thread.

8. Re-reads are allowed but you can't read the same book twice within this challenge.

9. There is no prize for the winning team - bragging rights only :)

10. Each week, the theme will be announced in the Q&A/Announcement thread. The full list of themes announced during this round will be maintained in msg 1 of that thread.

The Rule on the Pass Option
* Each team can only have ONE member using their pass each week.
* Each member can only use that pass once each 5 weeks.
* This means that one or two team members (dependent upon the size of your team) will miss using a pass in each 5 week block.
* No-one can use the pass option in the last week of the challenge.
* In the final week Option 2 has altered and I will be allocating each team another team from which their book selection must be chosen :)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Key selection and completion post information. You must have ALL elements in your book posts.

For selection post Option 1 you must have:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Page numbers
How the book qualifies - please note which qualifying bookshelf/list you are using or the tags that justifies that it works.
If the theme is based off the bookcover, post the cover. If there is a letter count in the title, publication date etc, please note these details.

For selection post Option 2 you must have:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Page numbers
Name of the team-member, their star rating, the date they read the book.

For selection post Option 3 you must have:
Week #
PASS

For the completion post you must have:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Rating (1-5)
Review

Please DO NOT CHAT in these selction/completion posts. It needs to be super clear.

If you 'waffle' about your decided book - please REPOST your selection once you decide. DO NOT go back and edit your waffling post.

IF YOU NEED TO CORRECT A POST FOR MISSING INFORMATION or because the didn't qualify etc, please REPOST this information in a NEW post. Its difficult to find older posts when going backwards in the threads.

♏Vanessa♏ | 1567 comments Hi team. apologies for taking my time messaging you 😬 life got in the way, better late than never, right?! 😃

I'm a fast listener but slow reader, so tend to listen to my books, and, whenever possible, read at the same time. Kindle is great for simultaneously reading/listening. 🎧📖
I'm a mum of 2 teens about to take their IGCSE and IB exams, so stress is real 😩😵, on top of that I decided to go back to college(online) and am studying for an economics degree....So, reading is my emotional support 📚
We're living in South America (Rio de Janeiro - Brazil) at the moment, but we're from the UK (may need this info for the challenge). 🌎

This challenge is quite sedate and a ton of fun so, I hope we all have a good time getting through our TBRs, re-reading or dipping our toes in new waters. 📘💗📗

Jill (jilljorox) | 1820 comments Hello all, I live in NYC with my 16-year-old daughter (God help 😣😒) and my 10-year-old cat Mr. Darcy, can you tell my favorite book? I'm doing over 20 reading challenges currently but there's always room for more 🤣I love PtP because it's like the palate cleanser between challenges. 99.9 percent of books are romance, from erotica to clean, MF MM FF and all combinations therein. Also, I'm allergic to sleep so I'm pretty much reading 24/7 and I'm a very fast reader.

message 14: by Julie (new)

Julie | 856 comments Hi all. I'm from sunny Australia and live with my DH, 3 teens, and my lazy cattle dog.
Reading is my main hobby and I make time to read each day to keep me same. I mostly read any kind of romance, but love something with banter, adventure and spice.
This is my first time with this challenge and I'm hoping for some new books for my TBR from everyone.

Stacey (boydsmom) | 223 comments Hello Team! Sorry I'm a little late -- I got home from work late last night.

I live in North Carolina, USA with just my dog. I work as a PT in a trauma hospital, so my romance reading is my escape from reality. I have done this challenge before, and enjoy as I can always find a romance to read that fits since that's my go to. I usually am in the process of several challenges, but I've been taking a break to read books by authors for an upcoming signing I'm going to and wanted to focus on that so this will be my one and only -- at least for a little while. :)

I am horrible at team names, so I will leave that to you more creative folks.

Ariel (aellen) | 973 comments Hello! Sorry for the late check in but I am here and ready to read! :)

My name is Ariel and I live in south Florida. I am a substitute teacher which gives me a lot of flexibility in wotk schedule and reading. I tend to read thrillers and romance novels and can usually always find a challenge that fits those. I am not a huge audiobook person as I find that I read a lot faster than listening to a book.

My top 3 names are:

1. Traveling Through the Pages
2. Traveling Bookshelf
3. Travelers Talea

message 23: by Julie (new)

Julie | 856 comments COMPLETION POST - Option 1 - Tourist Destination
Week # 1
In the Unlikely Event by L.J. Shen In the Unlikely Event by L.J. Shen
Rating (1-5) ⭐⭐⭐
Review:
There are flawed characters in books. Then there is a toxic cast of people who go on to raise more toxic people, who befriend more toxic people, all the while justifying their behaviour with their good intentions, so they are not someone's villain. While the book was engaging, insightful and funny at times, I'm just exhausted by all the selfish drama and the secrets. Bumped up to 3 stars due to the interesting premise.

You don't need to actually read it this week, but you must pick a book and make a selection post.

Rating: 5 stars
Review: (I should warn you all my reviews are not things of beauty....)
This was a re read for me and I enjoyed it as much this time as the other 2 times I've read/listened to it. I loved the banter between the 2 MCs and their families and the revisiting of old friends from previous series. While the FMS's "oddness" was a bit over the top at times, the MMC's reaction to it every time was lovely and often times hilarious. The reader for this series especially had me laughing out loud at times.
