Liepa I personally prefer libraries, you don't need to pay, it doesn't take place, also you save planet! i think it's easier to read different books - there are books most stores doesn't sell anymore and just you don't feel guilty for trying something you don't know if you like

Amra ♡ (FREE PALESTINE) | 35 comments I also think libraries are better... cuz at bookstores you'll be buying books without clear knowledge as to whether you will like them or not, and if it's the latter it'll just end up being a waste of money. On the other hand, in libraries you have the free potential to experiment and try out new genres and you don't even have to pay (except for the membership which is generally inexpensive)

I've NEVER been to a library before!! becuz libraries are pretty non-existent here!! nd books are REALLY expensive too!! ( so I mostly have to settle for e-books)

you're actually ryt! libraries do seem better than bookstores, but what if you want to reread a book??

robin✨allthethingssheread | 39 comments I am a book goblin so I love a good trip to the bookstore, and I do like to own my books. But libraries are great to discover which books are worth buying! And since you don't need to pay obviously you get to explore more titles and genres.

in my country libraries are totally free, unless you're late or you damaged your book (i love living in europe)

Omggg that's soooo cool <3 I think even here in sri lanka the public libraries are really cheap but I go to the British Council which is slightly more expensive 🙃

yup, even I think owning some of your favourite books would be better! nd I think buying books from Amazon
is cheaper???

message 9: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Carlsson | 4 comments what a fun topic and intresting to read all your oppinions! :D
I often do both. In Sweden it is free to rent a book in the library and often they can buy the book if they are missing a specific one.

It is cheaper, more environmental friendly and you can access much more but I live out in the woods and it is a hassle to have a date on when to finish the book and be in the city.

I also like to decorate with my books and therefor buy some of the books because Amazon makes it so easy to access and they are kinda cheap in my opinion.

robin✨allthethingssheread | 39 comments Amazon is indeed convenient but if I could recommend everyone to check out your local bookstores if you're able! There's nothing quite like asking for recommendations from your local booksellers, and a lot of places nowadays will offer online orders for home delivery or store pick-up. I love going to mine to discover new titles and see what tickles my interest there, highly recommended experience!

rae i like going to the library and getting like 3-5 random books i don't know that much about, but i'd still say bookstores because if i really like the book then i usually end up buying it anyways

~sage~ 💌 | 10 comments i love both so much, to me libraries are more relaxing though 🎧📓🖇️

'The Invisible Life of Addie larue' is literally 30$ here!! while it's just 12$ in amazon!!!

message 19: by Liepa (new)

Liepa abt Amazon shipping to my country is kind of expensive (well not too much, but still extra money) so bookstores are cheaper! Amazon for me works just for kindle versions!

Dreamcatcher (HIATUS) Libraries all the wayyyyyyyy it's not even a competition. Sure the wait is sometimes tedious but it saves a lot of over consumptionn

message 26: by ✨sofia✨ (new)

✨sofia✨ Bookstores! Love the feeling of getting a book and knowing it’s mine <3

message 27: by Kripa_M (new)

Kripa_M Never been to either,, but I guess libraries?

Bailey | 3 comments I like libraries. But also I’m a broke teen. 😝

⋆ b r e z ! ⋆ Book stores 🤗 but i get most of my books on Amazon or I borrow them from my bestie

message 31: by Serena (new)

Serena Stoll | 9 comments Both have special places in my heart. I used to joke that if I was ever going to be locked in somewhere overnight that it would be the local bookstore. Being "trapped" with fresh books and a coffee shop? Oh no /s

Libraries, however, will have to win in the end. They are a haven for anyone no matter their circumstance. You can indulge in your love of reading no matter your budget, and in this economy that is invaluable. Libraries support the community in countless ways - providing community, refuge, and education.
