We have reached round 5 of Wheel of TBR 2024- we have five prompts this round due to spinning multiple yellows. A couple of the prompts are more challenging than the others but feel free to ask for recommendations if need be. I'm eager to see what you all choose for these prompts- two in particular. Happy Reading!

The Prompts

Spin #1

★ A lot of popular authors have known pen names but if you don't know, lists are easily searchable on google- you can find a list on wikipedia with a very long list of author pen names here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...

Spin #2

★ This one might be a little challenging but again there are lists to be found if you search books that take place in just one day. I know of some if you'd like a recommendation.

Spin #3

Spin #4

Spin #5

Nat (waterfallz) | 656 comments Quick question on the only takes place in one day: can it be a groundhog day situation, or does it need to only be one full day? I have an option for both, but the groundhog day option I can also do for the immersive reading for Bingo.

Nat (waterfallz) | 656 comments 1. Published under a penname Something Wilder
2. A book that takes place over the course of one day 23 Minutes (actually different from my original two picks, but I saw this in a list of books taking place over one day, and I had read every book by Vande Velde in my library when I was in high school, so I'm actually really excited about this one)
3. Random emoji generator (panda, goose, yam) The Making of Asian America: A History
4. A book by an author who isn't white Daughters of Oduma
5. Roll a die to choose a genre (nonfiction) TBD, I could go with The Making of Asian America, but I have a few other books I'm interested in, especially after finishing A Higher Loyalty this morning.
Something Wilder by Christina Lauren 23 Minutes by Vivian Vande Velde The Making of Asian America A History by Erika Lee Daughters of Oduma (Sisters of the Mud) by Moses Ose Utomi

Nat (waterfallz) | 656 comments I cannot believe that May is almost over already (we have 5 minutes left in my time zone as I start this). I didn't read much this month. I finished 6 audio books, which is great. Between both jobs and school, I just haven't been reading much (also does not help that my current paperback is irritating me on a linguistic level). So, enough with the life update and on with the book update!
Anyway, for this month, I finished 4/5 prompts with two books.
For the author using a pseudonym, I read Something Wilder, which I liked, but was not marketed well imo, but the story was still cool, just a lot different than advertised.
I also completed the prompts of random emoji generator (panda), author who isn't white, and choose a genre (nonfiction) with The Making of Asian America: A History.
I'm still hoping to finish 23 Minutes soon, but I have the library (yet again) breathing down my neck to bring their book back, and I haven't actually started it yet.
