Ooooo, the pressure ... I hope I pick a book that my Secret givee will like. :)

I have recently been putting aside so many books that I cannot finish where the sex overshadows the story/plot so I am wanting to try something new :D
Which is why I am signing up! I am hoping one of you guys will help me with that hehe

I have recently been putting aside so many books that I..."
I understand Tricia! I prefer books with a good plot & characters, with sex added - rather than books with sex with characters & plot thrown in... if that makes sense.

SIGN-UP IS NOW OFFICIALLY CLOSED

If you wanted to participate, but missed the deadline, we'll be doing the same thing next month. Join us then.

I took a look at your books so I think I have a few suggestions, and I hope you find something you like.
1. Wanting Something Moreby Kathy Love. I saw you had read her other books, but these are not pnr, they are just romance. This one is technically the third one, but it's my favorite. If you prefer reading books in order then Getting What You Want is the first.
2. Faking It by Jennifer Crusie. I've read all her books and this is one of my favorites. This is the second of two books, the first is called Welcome to Temptation and it is almost equally as good. Both have great characters and really it doesn't matter if you read them out of order.
3. I noticed there wasn't any Jeaniene Frost on your list....she writes excellent characters, some action, some romance, her books are a little more UF than PNR but great either way. I'm suggesting the first one which is Halfway to the Grave but the next three are really great as well!
I hope you can find something you like!

1) The first book from one of my favorite paranormal series -- Halfway to the Grave. I picked this because you seemed to like Riley Jenson and the Black Dagger Brotherhood. It has one of the sexiest vampires around -- BONES *grin* It has lots of action, but still manages to have romance. The books also get better and better as you go...
2) I just read a couple of really nice historicals, so I thought I'd pass along the suggestions since you have Lisa Kleypas in your to-be-read list... Both of these were really good: Secrets of a Summer Night or The Duke And I. I had not been a big fan of historical romances, but these two books have changed my mind! :)
3) Finally, I thought I would offer you a couple of contemporaries to choose from. I'm all for funny books, and both of these really made me smile: The Undomestic Goddess or Can You Keep a Secret?
Hopefully, you will enjoy one of the books I mentioned above :)

Wages of Sin by Maclaine, Jenna
The Hunger Games by Collins, Suzanne
Soulless by Carriger, Gail
On the Edge by Andrews, Ilona
Sunshine by McKinley, Robin
Companions of the Night by Velde, Vivian Vande
Blood and Chocolate by Klause, Annette Curtis

I recommend:

Angels' Blood by Nalini Singh
I recently read this for my group in a monthly read and I absolutely loved it. The only downfall is that its the first in a series and its new... so you will have to wait a while for future books. But it was definately a wonderful read.

Kiss of Midnight by Lara Adrian
Lord of the Dead by Tom Holland
Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
Addicted by Charlotte Featherstone
I did try to pick a few that I think you might like based on your ratings from books that you've read. I hope you enjoy whichever you choose!
Michelle

1. Historical Romance: Desiree -- takes place post French revolution. Involves Napolean's first love. Also, I just recently read a Regency novel titled Mr. Darcy, Vampyre. I liked most of it, but wasn't happy with the ending. However, you may enjoy it, so I'm including it on this list...
2. Contemporary/Paranormal: This is a silly paranormal romance series, but I really like it: You Slay Me. It features dragons.
3. Contemporary/Paranormal: Enchanted, Inc. -- this is a 4 part series. The romance heats up more in the future books, but it is one of my favorite series :)
4. Contemporary/Dystopian -- hints of romance: The Hunger Games -- love this trilogy. Only problem with reading it is that the third book isn't out yet. I'm inpatient!!!!

Light, funny paranormal romance = Undead and Unwed by Mary Janice Davidson
Sci-fi with a bit of romance = Grimspace by Ann Aguirre
Suspenseful, paranormal romance = Tiger Eye by Marjorie M Liu
Epic fantasy romance = Warprize by Elizabeth Vaughan
Epic fantasy/paranormal romance = Lord of the Fading Lands by C.L. Wilson
I hope you find something you'd like to read!

Here are a few suggestions. Hope you find one you will like
1. The Hunger Gamesby suzanne collins
2. Poison Studyby maria v snyder
3. Evermoreby alyson noel
4. City of Bonesby cassandra clare

(Hey, didn't you make the rules for this challenge in the first place?...LOL)

Let me know if what you thought or if you would like a different pick to be made.

What's a Pick-It-For-Me Challenge?
It's a group recommend a book thing - works just like a Secret Santa or Xmas Exchange, except that the gift is replaced by a book recommendation. Just like in Secret Santa, the givee-giver pairings are randomly assigned. So whomever you get, you recommend a book for them. Preferably it should be something new and unfamiliar to your givee, NOT a book from their to-read list - the point is to introduce new books and new authors. In return, you'll have a book recommended to you (sometimes you might get a few options to choose from). After you're done reading your Pick-It-For-Me book, a short post with some feedback - a mini-review of sorts would be appreciated.
For this challenge, you need either HAVE YOUR PROFILE SET TO PUBLIC (preferable) or make the person who'd be doing the recommending to you your friend. On top of that, I strongly advise keeping your bookshelves updated, otherwise you might end up with a recommendation for something that you have already read.
Signing up period will remain open until the 29th.
So who's in?
