Dan | 1568 comments Please nominate up to two works you think would make for a good group read for our weird fiction group. I plan to start the poll on June 15 for July's read. We don't do things months in advance here like they do in other groups. That helps us be flexible and topical.

Dan | 1568 comments I nominate Mad Amos Malone: The Complete Stories by Alan Dean Foster. This is weird western fiction. I recently ran across the first installment in Fantasy Book Vol. 2, No. 3 (#5), August 1982 and it was a great story: cowboys versus dragon.

Dan | 1568 comments I would like to nominate Weirdbook #46 (2023). It's the latest issue. I hope they're not now defunct! It is available for $3.99 on Amazon for Kindle. That's one source. It has a story from Darrell Schweitzer and another from Adrian Cole, if you liked their work in Lin Carter's Simrana Cycle. There's also one by Mark McLaughlin (an author we read last year) and another by an author whose early 1980s work (for Fantasy Book) I've recently read and thought highly of: Jessica Amanda Salmonson.

Nicolai Alexander | 303 comments I'll nominate something very soon!

Nicolai Alexander | 303 comments I'll nominate Dead Letters: An Anthology of the Undelivered, the Missing & the Returned! If I remember correctly, I bought this on a whim once (used) by someone who sold something else I really wanted. I took one look at it and figured it was right up my dark alley. Based on the reviews for it, this should be an appropriate nomination for us. Maybe even based on some author names!

Mary Hollow | 9 comments Nicolai Alexander wrote: "I'll add No One Came For Me: weird and primal horror stories by Mary Hollow again too!"

I appreciate this! :-)

If you guys do end up reading my book, let me know if you would be interested in some kind of Q&A, I'd be up for it. (I have seen a sudden surge in interest lately, which is as welcome as it is unexpected – I'm not sure how to respond to it but I figure it can't hurt to be accessible to potential fans.)

Ronald (rpdwyer) | 89 comments I nominate Mothwoman.

I haven’t read the book but I understand that it uses the Mothman legend.
