I loved all the characters (except Marshall of course) and the relationships that developed between them. Also how they all pulled together to help Vera when she became ill. Even Vera's son redeemed himself in the end - although I understand him trying to keep some distance from his forthright and demanding mother!
I didn't guess the identity of the murderer and was wondering when they were going to appear as none of Vera's other suspects seemed likely. And even when Vera final worked out who it was and how he'd done it, I didn't guess his motive. I also didn't twig to the fact that Vera had ransacked her own shop until she admitted it. So some good surprises there!

I loved it! Vera is such a great character and the story is totally entertaining. I was enjoying it so much that, like Carolyn, I never even figured out 'who dunnit.'
I finished this a little while ago, and have written my review:

I enjoyed it very much. Vera is great! And I did figure out whodunnit, but not until quite near the end :) An entertaining and fun read!

Thanks Carolyn! lol I go through with "I reckon it's ??" then a bit further I'm "it's definitely ??", then "maybe not", "oh I'm sure it is... " haha!!
