An interesting set of stories set in Veracruz, Mexico. A journalist tells stories of those affected by the mysterious and the violence of the city with drugs often being the reasoning behind both. The first story starts with lights over the ocean and the journalist as a child is positive that the lights represent a UFO which really it is just drug runner plane lights. Others deal with the spontaneous stand offs between drug lords and enforcement taking over neighborhoods and those taking the drugs such as a beauty queen who ends up in tragic circumstances. My favorite was of brave 20 something's visiting a supposed haunted house and experiencing a terrifying experience that changed them. The title story is also a sad one but shows the power of supporting others in difficult circumstances.

Overall a solid set of stories. I have not quite been convinced to visit Veracruz yet.
