Beth | 26 comments The Hades x Persephone series (7 books, starting with A Touch of Darkness) by Scarlett St. Clair is built around mythology. Definitely spicy.

Amanda | 50 comments Ok so there are MANY lanes you could go down here all just depends on what spice means to you!

I’d say Zodiac Academy gives great fantasy AND spice. I definitely got obsessed with it. People either are obsessed with the series or hate it. I was the former. I read like the first 5 books in a week. Fair warning they are an emotional rollercoaster!

The Bridge Kingdom series by Danielle Jenson(she recently wrote A Fate Inked in Blood that everyone has been loving). I recommend this since you referenced ACOTAR. You will absolutely LOVE Lara if you liked Feyre. This one is more fantasy with slowish burn spice that gets hotter as it goes.

Now if you’re looking for a lot of GREAT spice and happens to be a fantasy novel I’d HIGHLY recommend The Bonds that Tie by J Bree. It’s a reverse harem series and I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone not like this.

An honorable mention series that isn’t quite fantasy, but more spicy dark romance surrounding academic/elite society is Rina Kent’s Legacy of Gods series. They are quick reads and the characters are all easy to like.

Hope you find something!

Addison :) | 39 comments The Beasts of the Briar series is great!! It has a lot of spice in it, and is a Beauty and the Beast re-telling. It is an unfinished series, though. The next one is coming out this year, I think ! This one is one of my favorites.

Stace | 13 comments Plated prisoner series by Raven Kennedy is excellent (1st book a struggle / might be difficult for some readers though)

Blood and Ash by Jennifer L Armentrout is excellent 🥰

Ever King & Ever Queen duology had spice (and pirates)

Throne of Glass & Crescent City also amazing, as see you mentioned having read ACOTAR so definitely recommend!

The Serpent & Wings of Night by Carissa Broadbent also a good read. i also really enjoyed Folk of Air series, great plot but it had literally no spice.

Andrea | 24 comments I second Stace's options. Blood & Ash series is excellent, I loved Cass (MMC); Ever King and Ever Queen has a world that is fucking awesome; Serpent & the.....is equally good. I'm on Blood of the Fae series and it's wild, but great characters, interweaving fae, animal, magic humans in a well thought out sequence.

Bee (brittnieehope) | 5 comments a few of my 5/5 reads so far!

Spark of the Everflame devoured the first 3 books (4th to come in July/August)
To Bleed a Crystal Bloom (this ones a BIT darker romantasy and DEFINITELY a slow burn, but soooo worth it when it comes) 3 books out, 4th book TBA
When the Moon Hatched Same author as TBACB ^^ but definitely more world building and slow burn with some GOOD spice scenes - 2nd book in 2025

message 14: by Brandi (new)

Brandi Wepryk | 5 comments Zodiac academy has it all! All the fae and magical creatures and shape shifters and enemies to lovers and forbidden lover and more!! And it’s a completed 9 books series with a few novellas as well! I highly suggest! Slow burn for sure and a lot of spice as the series goes on!

River S.Grant | 1 comments Captain Bennu https://amzn.eu/d/0ee715DU

In a world where magic vanished a decade ago, the kingdoms of Southria and Treasten fight for supremacy. Queen Victoria of Treasten sends the Trident, a formidable ship commanded by the infamous Captain Bennu, on a dangerous voyage to seal a deal with the powerful King Charles of Evüw. Onboard the Trident, Leo Woodville will seek to fulfill a personal mission with his own life at stake. And he will be willing to do anything to succeed, even if it takes killing Captain Bennu himself.

In Southria, King Berthec I is determined to take Queen Victoria's crown, having forged an alliance with the Icy Peak. His son, Prince Elberthec, will soon be married to Queen Marryle, but Prince George, the heir to the throne of Treasten, will challenge this marriage at any cost.

Was the assassination of Isabella Lyntrash the origin of all these conflicts? Or is there something else?
