Jason Oliver | 3047 comments What a heartbreaking and wild true story of the Osage Tribe being taken advantage of by the United States Government and other citizens. Though this story focuses mainly on one conspiracy, the author also shows that the oppression of the Osage is a systemic problem that even is happening in modern times.

I loved learning about this story and brought new appreciation for how minorities have been and are being taken advantage of. The true story is so wild, that it feels made up. You have to stop and wonder, "how could something like this really happen?"

The story telling is a bit dry but still this is an entertaining and informative read. I look forward to now watching the movie.

Jason Oliver | 3047 comments I have not read The Wager, but I added it to my to read after several here read it and liked it. Didn’t even notice it was the same author.

Robin P | 5755 comments I gave both books 5 stars, and I am someone who overwhelmingly reads fiction. Both books would be unbelievable if you didn't know that they were true!
