Heejin Ahn (aheejin) | 433 comments Hello,

I suggest we add 출판유통통합전산망 (translation: Integrated Computer Network for Publishing and Distribution) https://bnk.kpipa.or.kr/ as an acceptable source for Korean book covers to the manual (https://help.goodreads.com/s/article/...).

First opened in 2021, this website is created and run by a branch of the Korean government, 문화체육관광부 Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (MCST) (https://www.mcst.go.kr/english/index.jsp).

This is the plan page about creating this "출판유통통합전산망" website in the MCST website: https://www.mcst.go.kr/kor/s_open/rea...
Also this is a MCST's blog article announcing the opening of the site: https://blog.naver.com/mcstkorea/2229...
I couldn't find the English versions of these articles, but in case you are interested, you can run these on Google translate. I'm mainly attaching these pages to prove this website is created by a government ministry and not a commercial site.

The below is Google-translated version of the goal of the organization, written in this page (https://bnk.kpipa.or.kr/home/v3/cente...
"The Publication Distribution Integrated Computer Network is an integrated management system (service platform) for publication distribution information that was built to make the domestic publication distribution structure transparent and advanced. It integrates and manages publication distribution information that has been scattered until now by digitalizing the production, distribution, and sales processes of publications in real time."

For another source of Korean books' covers, https://publiclibraries.com/world/ has The National Library of Korea (https://www.nl.go.kr/) in its list, but this site's cover images are very small thumbnails and not very usable. I think https://bnk.kpipa.or.kr/ can be listed as another acceptable source in the Librarian Manual.
