Post the books that you have questions about

❤Stephanie ღ♥ღMrs Daryl Dixonღ♥ღ I'm rereading the series Immortals after dark which does include the gods Woden and Freya as how the Valkyrie came to be, now I looked up on line and Woden is another name for Odin so that would count right?

message 4: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ Does the book have to talk about the God(s) in question during the book or if the book series is about Roman Gods will that count? I was thinking about the series The House of Olympus by Rick Riordan - is about the Roman Gods

❤Stephanie ღ♥ღMrs Daryl Dixonღ♥ღ can it only be the gods that you are in the team of, so I'm in the Norse gods team does that mean I can't get the 50 points if I read a Greek gods book?

If the series is about the gods then it does count

Ok I am thinking I am going to let it be about any gods not just the ones in the battle. So if you read a book that has the Native American gods in it you will get the 50 points

So, if we are on the Roman team we can read a book with any of the other gods(Greek, Egyptian etc) and it would count for points?

*whispers* that would be awesome...I need to get back to Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter et al series :)

message 20: by Heather (new)

Heather | 543 comments Lizz, one of my teammates read a book that talked about Norse Gods. There wasn't a god character in the book though. Is that ok for bonus points?

message 21: by ✿~Danielle~✿ (new)

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) Liz, I think in a comment before you said as long as there was mention of Gods more that once, it would work.

One of my teammates read a book in which there is mention of Osiris (name of alien) twice in relation to Egyptian gods and Amun-Gereb as the aliens' king (Egyptian supreme god) twice. Is this ok?

LIZZ's reply Yes

~♥ Kat ♥~ wrote: "Not sure if this was answered before or not but If the God or Goddess is mentioned in the series name does that count for the 50 points or do they need to have a major/minor role within the story it's self to get those points?

Ex. Warriors of Poseidon Series by Alyssa Day(it's been so long since I started this series I can't remember if the god has a role in the story or not) .......

LIZZ's reply Yes that works

Lauren wrote: "Does the God or Goddess have to be a character in the story or is a mention of the name in the story sufficient?"

LIZZ's reply: They don't have to be in the story but they have to be mentioned in the book more this once.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) For the current mini challenge when you say the color can be "on the cover", do you mean as long as our team's color is anywhere on the cover it counts? Or must the cover be mainly that color?

This week, my team's color is yellow. Would this work:
2nd Chance by James Patterson (the "2nd" is in yellow) or would it be something more like:
One Fearful Yellow Eye (Travis McGee #8) by John D. MacDonald

Thanks!

Anywhere on the cover. And yes - they both work.

I'm going with NO on this - as it really has nothing to do with gods.

No on this, as shapechangers change their bodies into other things, not switching bodies.

Charlie (moosey913) Do these books count as orange to you?

Ink and Bone (The Great Library, #1) by Rachel Caine

City of Ashes (The Mortal Instruments, #2) by Cassandra Clare

More than enough - it just has to have some blue on it. It doesn't have to be majority blue.

❤Stephanie ღ♥ღMrs Daryl Dixonღ♥ღ Before I start my new book, I need to know that Wolf, Wolves, werewolf and werewolves count for theme. I feel like it does but just want to make sure?

message 40: by Penni (new)

Penni | 1292 comments Mod
Werewolves do as thy change from human to wolf. Wolves alone do not.

message 42: by Nichole (new)

Nichole I just want to make sure I'm understanding this correctly.

Any shifter (bear, wolf, cat..) counts as theme points? Does it have to be labeled Were-whatever? As long as the character actually shifts to an animal of some kind? I'm thinking Jane Yellowrock here. She shifts into an animal but she is a skinwalker.

And this is Theme bonus points? In addition to the Power Words (Weres, Skinwalker, Changeling, Shifter).

Nichole, I'm sorry I wasn't thinking theme when you asked before.

Power words alternatives for Shapechanger is what I was thinking of when you asked, not theme. Power words such as can be used if found in title, etc.

Theme was originally theme from book included your pantheon gods but then changed to be any pantheon gods (angels, lucifer, etc included). I didn't see shape shifters being added to theme (gods) by Lizz. But there is a lot of info a lot of places. Can you point me to where it states shapechangers could be used as a theme for the book (or power words could be used as theme for book?)

message 44: by Nichole (last edited May 16, 2015 07:31PM) (new)

Nichole Whew, okay. I knew about the Power Words but when she said theme I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on extra points :)

As far as I know, Lizz only added Shifters, Skinwalker, Changeling, Were(animal) as Power Words. But like you said, a lot of info is spread out.

Thank you for taking up the reigns of this challenge while Lizz is out with technical difficulties. I/We really appreciate it!

❤Stephanie ღ♥ღMrs Daryl Dixonღ♥ღ Oh sorry, I was asking about Wolf, Wolves, werewolf and werewolves for power words in title and series title, not about the gods theme. I'm sorry if I was confusing anyone.

No problem - its confusing.

Now that we've been in play a bit, I may try and find a place to consolidate what rules have morphed out so far. It's hard to follow the threads and find everything. I keep thinking "I saw that somewhere" lol,
