message 1: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) hey so i created this as a better way for us to communicate.

message 2: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) Prefer May because we are a week into April unless there is a short book we can think of

message 3: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) Me too! So the polls are ready and are set to start tomorrow and end a week before the last day of april, that way people can get the books in time.

message 4: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) Myriam wrote: "Good!"

Do you know any cool and different book challenges for me to add for an upcoming month?

message 5: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) Sorry I haven't been around... I have finals coming up and work a lot. When my finals are over I'll be back more often. Add whatever challenge u think will really work for the group and think people will enjoy

message 6: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) The read five thing sounds cool. I was thinking also about creating a challenge where every month I read one book from a current genre

message 7: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) We read* sorry on my phone. That way everyone gets one book out of the way towards their reading goal for the year

message 8: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) So I'll post about that on May first sound good?

message 9: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) I'm going to be gone today and tomorrow. I'm visiting a college in Florida. Just wanted to let you know

message 10: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) I posted the pairs for the PIFM challenge. Now I'm off to study for finals. Talk to you later!

message 11: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) Thank you. I posted a couple new things onto the group.

message 12: by Elizabeth (last edited May 22, 2015 07:50AM) (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) So as you've seen I created the buddy reads section.
I figured schedules and preparing for the buddy reads can be in upcoming and then current will have your discussions and comments during the buddy reads. Does that sound good or should I change something

message 13: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) In upcoming make a topic with the name of the book and start date example The Host May 17th. There you guys can get new members involved, create a schedule, brainstorm, get questions from some sites whatever works.

Then with the same topic name a day before you start in current. Post the schedule you all have agreed on or rest stops. Then when you guys have an intermission or finish a section post some questions etc.

Elizabeth (aconight) Myriam wrote: "Okaie now I get it!"

One member away from 100 members!

message 15: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) I have to fix the graphics I put in our info. I didn't get to save them so they got deleted

message 16: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) But I'm not home until 10 tonight. So if it looks funny that's why haha

message 17: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) Myriam wrote: "Okaie no problem haha :p"

Never mind haha on my phone it said it was deleted.
Now that I am on my computer, its fine

message 18: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) 102 MEMBERS!!! YAY

message 19: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) I added a new mod named Hannah. She's very active within the group already.

☆☆Hannah☆☆ I know you just made me a mod but I already have an idea. Since you are having more people getting involved with Pick It For Me I thought that maybe we could do a take off on Copycat. Of course name it something else. My sister had suggested something like Shadow Read. I know that copycat is really popular so I thought that maybe I would suggest doing something similar.

message 21: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) That's honestly a great idea I've done that as a mod on another group. It works out well. Do you want to make the thread?

message 22: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) Sorry for the delay I went for a run then ran an errand with a friend.

☆☆Hannah☆☆ Yeah I can make it.

message 24: by Elizabeth (last edited Jun 08, 2015 04:11PM) (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) Hey guys! It seems like everything is running super smoothly.
I just wanted to give you both a heads up that I am going to be on vacation from July 7th to July 18th. I will probably pop in here and there while I am gone but I need you both to keep things going.

☆☆Hannah☆☆ That's fine. I'm sure we can handle things.

message 26: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) Thanks guys!

message 27: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) hey so I'm back from vacation. Where did everyone go? The group has been very inactive.

☆☆Hannah☆☆ I'm not sure why it's so inactive.

message 29: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) As mods I need you to be active. I am currently typing up more challenges and ideas to post on the group. Hopefully, I will have it done by today because I work open to close for the next three days.

message 30: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) Maybe we should create some games that require constant commenting

message 31: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) I added a rainbow challenge and a five month genre challenge.
Also, I added a games folder. There is a series elimination & cover game.

☆☆Hannah☆☆ Sounds good.

message 33: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) Myriam wrote: "Hey!

I wanted to say I'm sorry for my innactivity.summer has been more busy than I thought it would. But I'm back!"

It happens. I added some things to get comments flowing again

message 34: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) I was thinking of using this image i found online for a yearly book challenge in 2016. The readers can pick the suggested or any other book as long as they are set in each named country.

I also found one for each state of the US but I think it would be cool for our members to get to read a book set in other countries rather than states. Let me know what you think.

message 35: by Skyler (new)

Skyler (skyler13) I think that's a really cool idea.

message 36: by Skyler (new)

Skyler (skyler13) Do we post the Shadow Read for December topic soon?

message 37: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) Skyler wrote: "Do we post the Shadow Read for December topic soon?"

Hannah was suppose to.

message 38: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) Hannah wrote: "Sounds good."

Myriam wrote: "Hey!

We need to start preparing for 2016 year long challenges, maybe new monthly challenges and a newsletter message each month starting in january.

message 39: by Skyler (new)

Skyler (skyler13) Sounds good, what can I do to help?

(Sorry Skyler! Didn't mean to misspell your name - I'm on the app and autocorrect)

message 42: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) I figure we all brain storm and then pick and choose or modify any suggestions

message 43: by Skyler (new)

Skyler (skyler13) I really like the "pick it for me" challenge, that one should stay for sure :)

☆☆Hannah☆☆ We definitely should have an A-Z challenge.

message 45: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) Hannah wrote: "We definitely should have an A-Z challenge."

Do you want to add that in our yearly challenge?

message 46: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) Skyler wrote: "I really like the "pick it for me" challenge, that one should stay for sure :)"

Each month the participants of PIFM varies but its definitely a staple challenge. People seem to really like the new yearly challenge I posted.

message 47: by Skyler (new)

Skyler (skyler13) Are we gonna post 2016 stuff soon?

☆☆Hannah☆☆ I will add it turns tomorrow.

message 49: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) ANY IDEAS FOR MARCH, START POSTING.
ANY IDEAS FOR APRIL POST HERE.

message 50: by Skyler (new)

Skyler (skyler13) What about for April a Spring themed challenge - must read books with flowers on the cover, or with spring in the title, with pastel color, etc.?
