Play Book Tag discussion

I loved the author's Witchlands series but apparently, this is her debut book. Witchlands is more high fantasy while this book is more urban / paranormal with a hint of steampunk. I did find it quite engaging; it was really easy to get into and drawn to the protagonist with her struggle to fit in society when all she wants to do is just be herself. However, her missing brother and the city's epidemic of the Dead rising helped her to reassess her priorities and faced up to her family's past.

Overall, a fairly easy read and while I enjoyed the twist, I didn't quite love the book as I did the other series. I may or may not read the sequel as I'm not quite invested in this protagonist or the romance.
