It’s becoming clear to Nick that President Nelson doesn’t plan to include him in any important strategy and policy sessions, leaving his on the outside. Nick believes he used him solely to get elected and never had any intentions of a partnership. Your thoughts? Should Nick develop his own initiatives or just go with the flow for now? Is Nelson uncomfortable with Nick’s popularity?

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1803 comments Nick's disappointment in Nelson is justified. I too thought better of him. He is jealous of Nick's popularity and resents needing Nick to win the election.

Yes, Nick needs to carve out his own niche and develop policies that he cares about.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I agree Lauren. Nick needs to develop his own goals. He will be more popular if he does.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I think Nelson's plan all along was to make Nick his VP because he was popular and would pull in more votes for him. After the election, he had no plan to include Nick in his work.

Yes, I think Nelson is jealous of Nick's popularity.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Nelson snowed Nick to get him to accept the VP position. He had no intention of using him in any fundamental way. That is so sad as Nelson is gone after the end of this term. Nick is the future, and Nelson is stupid not to try and mentor him.

Nick should definitely pursue his own agenda. Nelson just wanted to win, and he is jealous of Nick and it is only going to get worse.
