Play Book Tag discussion

I’ve put off writing my review for this book because despite finishing it over a week ago, I still don’t know how I feel about it. To start with the things I liked; I really liked the setting of Victorian London and the gothic feel this brought to the book, and I liked the character of Bridie, the young woman who is brought in to investigate the kidnapping of Christabel. But there were more things I didn’t like, including most of the other characters. I felt that there were just too many characters and I also didn’t like the supernatural and magical elements of this book. It was compelling and there were lots of twists to it, but I think that there was just too much magical realism for me, and so this book never really felt genuine in the way I wanted it to.
