Hi Mela
I would like to read this one, but it all depends if the three-in-one DuMaurier book at a library in my area includes this one. I'll ring tomorrow & let you know. :)

It would be nice. I am going to try the novel in a few days, at least that is the plan.

& this three-in-one collection does include The Flight of the Fountain so I will place a hold on it as soon as I have finished my next book. :)

Great.
Great.

once is no good
Another great psychological novel by du Maurier. Not one of my favourites, but still, it was gripping and fascinating.
I have just written the review, so for more - here is the link

Definitely many points to a discussion. E.g. why Armino so abruptly quit his job. The murder was done. So, why did he feel he had to so suddenly go back after all those years? Was he irresponsible? Or perhaps he only existed to this point in his life (not being fully alive)...

Perhaps when you get to Ruffano, you will be more involved in the story.

I still gave it 3 stars but it is my least favour DDM so far.
The three-in-one omnibus I borrowed also has The House on the Strand & I'm going to try to get that one read before I have to return this.

I wouldn't call it one of my favourites of the author but still liked it a lot. I am thinking now if the fact I am still a little in the world shown by Elena Ferrante in My Brilliant Friend was one of the reasons I was interested in du Maurier's "version of Italians"...
As I remember, I liked a lot The House on the Strand, but the sci-fun part had many holes, so I tried not to analyze that part.
