I keep trying to find a good stopping point to be able to comment here but then I get busy and don't have time to comment but I listen longer while driving and stuff.

Soooo I'm 66% through the book, somewhere in Part 4. Here are some thoughts so far.
(view spoiler)[I'm not loving it. The premise is fun. I like the sections where the guy (I can't even think of his name right now... Tom? It changes) is a history teacher. I don't really care for the author's fantasy life of meeting Shakespeare and Fitzgerald. I like time-travel stuff but too much name-dropping is just annoying.

It just doesn't seem like a lot is happening. His goal is to find his daughter who has the same condition as he does but that's not going very far. He has to do missions for his little group of immortals every 8 years and this last one wasn't super successful, but didn't seem to have much bearing on the rest of the story.

I don't know if I'm just sort of in a slump right now but almost all of the books I've been reading have fallen a little flat for me recently, so that could be part of it. (hide spoiler)]

Did you read Midnight Library by this author? I had mixed feelings on that one too.

I intend to start today, if not tomorrow, so should be able to look at your spoiler soon.
I have read The Midnight Library and liked it (gave it 5 stars) but I saw this one is not as popular. Curious to see why.

I finished. Gave it 2 stars. Maybe you'll appreciate it more than I did...

I am almost done with it and I cannot say I am impressed either.
