Challenge Rules
👻Books must be a minimum of 140 pgs
👻Rereads are allowed if more than 6 months
👻Audiobooks should be a minimum of 3 hours long
👻Books may be started before the challenge starts if they are completed AFTER the start date
👻Graphic Novels must be a minimum of 200 pgs
👻No poetry or cookbooks will be accepted

Ok so I looked at other threads. I think we have to pick a team name before we get our tasks.

Preeti since you did all of the work — go ahead and pick. It seems like Richard, Anna and I are all flexible 👻

It's how I know who is all checked in AND who read message one. Following directions is step one in this challenge.

Lol, well I think we know who the trouble group is going to be. Also, my notifications are broken. Even with the notify thingy on, I'm barely getting any.

I broke down and went to my profile and turned on all notifications for the groups that I moderate for. It's annoying to get notifications for challenges that I don't need but it's better than less than I need. I still feel like I am not getting all of them. It's a GR thing. They break things that are not broken just for fun to annoy us.

I just did that also! It wasn't broken so they should've just left us alone.

Then let's go with "We Ain’t Afraid of No Ghosts". It is my favourite of the lot.
And if nothing else, we will be the team that got that song stuck in everybody's heads 😜

Library Ghost:

The team is called to the library to investigate a ghost sighting. Wandering through the library, you notice symmetrical book stacking, ectoplasmic residue on card catalog drawers, and bookshelves falling over. Knowing you are getting close, your team continues exploring the library. As you round the corner, you see a female apparition. She is an older woman wearing a purple dress. She is reading a book and obviously thinks you guys are too loud. She shushes you. You attempt to talk to her and she scares your team away. Your team needs a plan to capture her.

Tasks (Reminder: Each of you must choose a different task)
👻Read a book with books stacked on the cover
👻Read a book with a female MC
👻Read a book with a purple cover (min 50 %)
👻Read a book where a character visits or works in a library

I've got a book with a female MC.

But if there's a task that no-one can do, I'm happy to tackle it. Although I only read non-fiction, I have a huge collection to search.

I would prefer the library task but can read for any of the others if anybody particularly wants this one.

I can do books stacked on cover. Or I can find a purple cover if Anna would rather do that

I can do either the books or purple. Let me know which one you want and I'll do the one that is left.

How It Fits: Bianca searched everywhere for the book her brother had borrowed from the library but couldn’t find it anywhere. On her way to the rose garden with her parents, she realised that they were going past the library and asked her parents if she could go there and meet them after at the rose garden. She went to the library to ask the librarian to give her information about which book her brother had borrowed.

I was going to read a different book for this task but the book I just finished ended up also working for it.

It's great when that happens.

I love when books fall into place like that especially when you're in a ton of challenges and that book can be used over and over again.

Patti, which one do you have ready to go and I'll get the other one read by tomorrow. I'm over here strategizing before work gets crazy.

Slimer:

The team is called to the hotel to investigate a ghost sighting on the 12th floor. Team member 2 sees it eating. It is a small green, slimy, see-through ghost. You try to catch him but miss and catch the wall on fire. It takes off. Team member 1 sights it in the hallway and is slimed as it runs straight through him/her. The ghost is then found in the ballroom. Your team is making quite a mess of the ballroom as it attempts to capture this ghost. There are small fires all around the room. broken furniture and food is strewn around. Don't forget that you shouldn't cross your streams! That could be very dangerous! Can you capture him or will he get away?
