Hello! School is taking up all of my time, so sorry that I haven't done a deep dive in a while.

Thanks Isabelle for this suggestion

Anyway, let's deep dive into the major differences between the series and the book.

*I will not talk about the characters' appearance as I believe that the actors did an impeccable job at bringing our favourite demigods to life.

1. Nancy hits Grover with sandwich bits, not cheese. small detail, but whatever.

2. Percy's fight with Mrs. Dodds the fight is faster paced in the series as to save time. Chiron also gives Percy Riptide before he learns who Mrs. Dodds is, instead of tossing it to him mid fight.

3. Sally's involvement While the book shows the reader what is happening right now, not digging deep in Percy's childhood, the series show up everything that Sally did to assure Percy's survival.

4. The hellhound In the books, a hellhound tries to kill Percy, which is a sign that there is a traitor at camp.

5. Is Sally alive? I guess we won't know for certain... unless we're watching the series where they confirm that . In the book, Percy hopes that his mother is in the Underworld, in the series, he knows for certain that Sally's alive.

6. Percy never actually has a selection of who he is going to take on the quest with him in the book

7. Alecto doesn't offer Annabeth a deal in the books

8. Visiting Aunty Em is a bit different the show portrays Medusa as a victim, whereas she tried to fill them up with food in the books.

9. Echidna has more screen time in the series vs the book

10. The separation between Annabeth, Grover and Percy is much more dramatic in the series

11. Ares and Grovers are #besties4life in the series

12. Percy sacrifices himself so Annabeth can get the shield, but I'm not mad because that is a Percabeth moment

13. Okay, I'm mad about this change. The trio knows exactly what they're looking for at the Lotus, no fun, no games, no distractions, no "Poker Face" in the background (but I'm fine with Dua Lipa) hate me if you want, but I actually like the Casino Scene in the movies more than the series, BUT I'm glad our favourite Italians (sort of ) made a cameo.

14. Clarisse is a serious suspect In the books, her "betrayal" was dismissed very fast.

15. Speaking of the Lotus, Hermes wasn't there, nor was Augustus but I enjoyed those scenes so who cares?

16. The Summer Solstice passed in the series I was so confused when I first watched the series.

17. Annabeth can't come to the phone right now... Why? Oh! Cause she's tied up by her regrets in the Fields of Asphodel this scene didn't happen in the books, but it is a nice addition as the book readers know about her backstory, but it also creates suspense for the show watchers who have yet to learn about Annie's time on the streets.

18. "Grandpa" that scene was iconic ngl. Percy calling Kronos Grandpa was *chefs kiss*

19. Poseidon fights Zeus for Percy I loved that scene in the series.

20. Luke's confession was emotional in the series and I'm conflicted because I needed the "60 seconds, Percy" scene.

I'm certain that I missed stuff, so if you find anything pls lmk!!
