Nominations are open for the December Book of the Month! Christmas novels and novellas are recommended.

The book with the most votes will be the book of the month. I look forward to your suggestions!

Just a friendly reminder that it's always a good idea to look over the guidelines if you've never nominated before.

Feel free to nominate a Christian fiction book of your choosing. Do consider nominating an author that we've not read at least in 2022 or 2023. Please follow the guidelines below and also make sure to nominate a book that released AT LEAST three months ago.

PLEASE REVIEW THESE GUIDELINES:
-Please do not nominate a book we've already read as a group in the last three years. You will be asked for a different nomination if you do. Find our shelves here:

2024: https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...
2023: https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...
2022: https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...

-Any author is up for nomination, as long as the book you nominate has not been a group read during 2022-2024, however, try not to nominate an author that we've read this year already. Self nominations are not allowed.

-If it is a book in a series that is not the first book, make sure you know that it can be read as a standalone and doesn't require the previous books being read to understand and enjoy.

-Please note that there may be more reasons that a book is not a good fit for nominations or group members as a whole, whether it be availability, cost, accessibility, etc. The moderators reserve the right to make these decisions. Please know we do our best in making these kinds of decisions, and we're all human. Your patience is appreciated. Thank you for your understanding! :)

Nominations will be open through October 15.

Hi Michelle. I keep hearing good things about this one. Since it just released in September, would you choose an option that released three or more months ago?

Michelle | 622 comments Sorry about that. I'll pass on any further nominations for December.

Katrina Lybbert | 886 comments Can I ask a question? Is the timing of when a book was released, so that it can qualify as a nomination, need to be 3 months before the day we nominate or 3 months before the first day of December? If I was nominating a book today, would it need to have been released by July 8 as today is October 8? Just wondering to make sure I understand.

I would have also nominated Christmas at Sugarplum Manor as it was released on Sept 1 and I thought that since Dec 1 was the 3 month mark it would qualify. Too bad it wasn't Aug 31.

Not trying to change the rules or anything, just for clarification for future nominations. Thanks so much!!!

Good question. The nomination should be three months released as of the start of the month we'd be reading it. For December, the book should be released by August 31 or prior. Hope this helps!
