31. Audiobook has multiple narrators

For this prompt, we’re looking for books in which the audiobook is narrated by multiple narrators.

The Cambridge Dictionary describes multiple as “having more than one and usually several of something.” Using this definition, any audiobook with two or more narrators will count toward this prompt. However, the more narrators, the merrier!

The audiobook may have multiple narrators throughout the entire book, or may simply have an introduction or bonus content read by a different narrator (or the author.) Books that are written from the point of view of several different characters or multi-timelines, may have multiple narrators.

You can check to see who narrates a specific book by doing a quick search for the audiobook on Amazon Audible. A handy key word is "full cast".

Do I have to listen to the book on audio?
Nope! All of our prompts can be completed using any format of reading (audiobook, physical, e-book, braille, live reading, etc.) Choose an audiobook that fits the prompt, then read that book in any format (paperback, hardcover, e-book, or audio!)

The Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz squeaks under the wire with 2 narrators.

I recently listened to The Only Plane in the Sky: An Oral History of 9/11 and it would fit this prompt. It's read by a cast of dozens of actors and is incredibly powerful (and of course heartbreaking).

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society is absolutely fantastic as an audio book. Multiple actors for the multiple characters make it easier to keep track of the different perspectives.

For this prompt I listened to The One . The narrators were all very good but I can’t recommend the book itself, it only made me further believe men should not be allowed to write a book from a woman (or women)’s point of view.

I listened to Maybe This Time by Cara Brownstone. It read like a radio drama. It was so sweet and delightful. Plus, the FMC is an English teacher (like me), so that made reading it doubly fun.

I, zombie by Hugh Howey.

Perspectives of zombies & not what you’d expect. More real & tragic than any tv show displays!

I listened to “Where the Library Hides” by Isabel Ibanez that is the second book in her series. It is amazing and so exciting! You will fall in love with the characters. The Audible version has two narrators to read the parts of Inez and Whitt so it qualifies for this prompt. I recommend you listen to the first book in the series, What the River Knows” which also has two narrators.

I listened to From Here to The Great Unknown by Lisa Marie Presley & Riley Keough ! I normally do not listened to audio books but I have wanted to read this one for awhile so I tried it. Very good book..raw & emotional !

The Lost Bookshop by Evie Woods

I listen to a lot of audiobooks, but funnily enough I haven't found many that fit this prompt:

The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane includes multiple narrators, and I enjoyed the audiobook version personally.

The Art Thief: A True Story of Love, Crime, and a Dangerous Obsession also fits under the "heist" prompt. The audiobook includes a note on the reporting which is read by the author, so the book technically has 2 narrators.

Deep Thinking: Where Machine Intelligence Ends and Human Creativity Begins has a foreword read by the author and a different main narrator.

I'm a Doctor Who fan, and there are a lot of full-cast audio adventures to be found - Big Finish is a good place to start - though these aren't usually available in novel format if you prefer reading to listening.

I don't listen to audibooks so what I'm doing is just finding the books I'm reading in physical form and then checking if it's narrated by multiple people then I'll count that.
