December Month-Long Observance - National Learn a Foreign Language Month: Celebrated since at least 2009, National Learn a Foreign Language Month highlights the benefits of learning a second (or more) language. Some of these benefits include brain growth, better memory, better listening skills, higher verbal and non-verbal intelligence and improved attention span.
**Read a book that is published in more than one language, or that is set in a location whose primary language is different from your own.

9. Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, etc: In honor of the many holidays celebrated in December, read a book that is tagged as any holiday (or just the generic 'holiday' tag).
