Interesting. While I still find Emma not my fave, I don't see her as quite as arrogant as I had. She is more young, pampered and untried. What struggles had she experienced in her life? She was raised in such a charmed way it was like everyone was around her for her entertainment, to do with as she pleased. I honestly feel sorry for her, She had difficult lessons to learn, for the first time in her life.

I did like it - just heed the warning and remember that Austen did not have an Austenesque ending to her life. This story stays true to her style while staying true to her life as well. If you don't, then you will be disappointed (as I saw some were in the other reviews). Akin to the outrage over the continuation of Sandition after season 1 [although rightly earned there - since that *was* an Austen novel retelling with a distinctly non-austen ending. (grumble grumble)]

This was about a hundred pages altogether but the author calls it a compilation of three volumes, which was a bit ridiculous IMO. The character names were changed randomly. Sir William was Sir Lucas and Mr. Lucas in the same paragraph, Anne De Bourgh had been promoted to Lady Anne, Lady Catherine had been demoted to Lady De Bourgh, and even Jane got randomly dubbed Lady Jane once. maybe I will have to give that a whirl (assuming it works here in the UK). I find that a lot of the variations on Everand are essentially P&P "strictly for adults" without plots, just lots of smut.
