Ohhhhhhh, what book will you read first?

I never know what book I’m going to choose for the new year. I know some people like to start the new year off with a 5 star book so they will choose something they rated 5 stars before but I don’t think that’s me. Hmmmm, 🤔🤔

I'll be reading in January with a bookclub, but not sure it will be my first finished book. We're cruising for the New Year, so I expect to read something I own on kindle the first week.

I think it will be Kairos by Jenny Erpenbeck, which won the 2024 International Booker Prize. I had planned to read it this year so I don’t want to push it off too long and then lose interest.

I'll probably be reading two books for two different book clubs: Horse & Good Bad Girl. The only ones I can predict for now.

It's very different from Thursday Murder Club. Once I accepted that, I liked it. It reminded me a little of the Fox and O'Hare series written by Janet Evanovich.

I haven't decided yet, but I'm thinking maybe Margo's Got Money Troubles by Rufi Thorpe.

I can't wait to start with the first book of the Malazan series: Gardens of the Moon. It will be my 3rd or 4th reread. I've stopped the series after the 3rd book and I just want to finish the series next year, because it's so good.

I just read Breaking Cat News in December. So many scenes I could identify with!
