Ohhhhhhh, what book will you read first?

Linda Boyd (boydlinda95gmailcom) | 192 comments I never know what book I’m going to choose for the new year. I know some people like to start the new year off with a 5 star book so they will choose something they rated 5 stars before but I don’t think that’s me. Hmmmm, 🤔🤔

Give me a couple of weeks.. 😁👌👍

Bonnie | 705 comments I'll be reading All the Colors of the Dark by Chris Whitaker in January with a bookclub, but not sure it will be my first finished book. We're cruising for the New Year, so I expect to read something I own on kindle the first week.

Pam (bluegrasspam) | 229 comments I think it will be Kairos by Jenny Erpenbeck, which won the 2024 International Booker Prize. I had planned to read it this year so I don’t want to push it off too long and then lose interest.

Patricia | 1136 comments I'll probably be reading two books for two different book clubs: Horse & Good Bad Girl. The only ones I can predict for now.

It's very different from Thursday Murder Club. Once I accepted that, I liked it. It reminded me a little of the Fox and O'Hare series written by Janet Evanovich.

Denise (drams5) | 323 comments I haven't decided yet, but I'm thinking maybe Margo's Got Money Troubles by Rufi Thorpe.

Saar The Book owl | 75 comments I can't wait to start with the first book of the Malazan series: Gardens of the Moon. It will be my 3rd or 4th reread. I've stopped the series after the 3rd book and I just want to finish the series next year, because it's so good.

12 + 4 - Dustiest Books - Gideon's March Gideon's March (Gideon, #8) by J.J. Marric by J.J. Marric (Gideon #8)
12 + 4 - Finish a Series - Moon of the Turning Leaves Moon of the Turning Leaves by Waubgeshig Rice by Waubgeshig Rice
Individual Challenge - Start a Series - The Black House The Black House by Peter May by Peter May (Fin McLeod #1) I've had this series awaiting my attention for the longest
Individual Challenge - Continue a Series - A Darker Domain A Darker Domain (Inspector Karen Pirie, #2) by Val McDermid by Val McDermid (DI Karen Pirie #2), once again this series has been waiting my attention the longest. And we just watched the adaptation of the 1st book on TV and it was also excellent.
Individual Challenge - Non-Series - Joanna Russ: Novels & Stories (LOA #373): The Female Man / We Who Are About To . . . / On Strike Against God / The Complet e Alyx Stories / Other Stories Joanna Russ Novels & Stories (LOA #373) The Female Man / We Who Are About To . . . / On Strike Against God / The Complet e Alyx Stories / Other Stories by Joanna Russ by Joanna Russ. This is a Library of America collection

The first book I might turn a page on might be Gideon's March as it's the shortest. 😁👌👍
