The Way I Used to Be question

Like I'm scared to pick up a romantasy book because idk I feel like it would be cringe... same with Colleen hoovers books. like I only like 2 books of hers because of the thrill (verity and hopeless) but there are certain scenes in her books that are weird... like verity in the book would be jealous of her literal child and favorite one of the girls. like wth. and ppl saying that she glorifys sexual harassment and whatnot. I mean she probably tries to be "realistic" like not every fairy tale or romance is friendly think about it. like the abuse in IEWU. shes right about how it can be hard to leave a situation. and every person is different. and how people can make mistakes. I can kind of get her writings. not the weird smut stuff ofc. and ppl think shes adores writing that but like there's other books with things like that. like the book the way I used to be talks about a high school girl who was sexually harassed in her freshman year and it basically broke her. and she was too scared to speak up abt it.
anyways I don't have time to discuss all the weirdness of her books but like I said before I need ideas because I also feel like those romance books with the cartoon illustrations like the hating game. they say their room coms but are they actually worth it reading and my money? or are they cringe?
