So I was thinking we should probably have a date to finish and a schedule with how much to read each day just to have as a base. We can always read faster or slower but we’ll basically have a time to discuss after and we can always discuss during too.

Is there a certain day you’d like to finish it by? I’m assuming some day before Christmas lol

That sounds like a good idea! My original goal was to finish it Monday, but I'm flexible

So I guess since there’s 30 chapters and an epilogue then we can break it into 10 chapters each day just to stay on track and then discuss any time that day. Just as a benchmark so if one of us are ahead we don’t spoil anything. And I guess we can start today?

@Issabelle how do you like it so far? Do you have a favorite character yet? I love the humor and Grace is maybe my favorite FMC ever. She’s so adorable and innocent and makes me laugh so hard. And her relating everything to books is 🤌🤭

Did you get any of the book references yet btw? They all went over my head lol since I haven’t read any of them that Grace has mentioned.

I'm really enjoying it so far!! I've read Basham's Skymar series which had a contemporary setting so it's been cool seeing her write from a historical setting. Grace is probably my favorite character too. She's so fun and larger than life and she makes me laugh as well.

I've gotten a couple of the book references, mostly the Jane Austen ones. 😂 I haven't read most of the ones Grace mentioned, but I was familiar enough with the storyline that I could figure out what she was referring too.

Jane Austen is awesome! I always recommend giving her a try! Pride and Prejudice is always my go-to recommendation. Elizabeth and Darcy have just an incredible character arc that I love so much!

You should definitely give the Skymark series a try! I think you would enjoy it. Isabelle in the first book has the same bookish love and references as Grace and Penelope in the second book has her similar joyous and positive personality.

I liked it a lot! The characters were so much fun to hang out with and the last hundred or so pages of the book were a real page-turner (I practically read it in one sitting). I liked how Basham balanced romance, history, and a mystery plotline. Your thoughts?

Same I think the characters were amazing and it was so fun to discover the mystery and their romance through their eyes! I also think the plot and the addition of Christmas was a great idea! I do feel like the Christmas was kind of an add on in the story so I do wish it was intertwined a little bit more but I didn’t mind.

Yes, I like the Christmas addition as well, though I do agree that it didn't play as big of a role in the story as I had expected it too.
