I guess the name in this case must be Beelzebubba.

Is that one of the songs on your set list, KD?

Oh, yeah, well what about this?

Fab Five Freddie told me everybody's high
DJ's spinnin' are savin' my mind
Flash is fast, Flash is cool
Francois sez fas, Flashe' no do
And you don't stop, sure shot
Go out to the parking lot
And you get in your car and you drive real far
And you drive all night and then you see a light
And it comes right down and lands on the ground
And out comes a man from Mars...

Gotta love ya some Blondie!

Okay, or not. I guess not everyone can appreciate the sublime inanity of Blondie attempting to rap.

Hey, there's a Ramone connection though - both Blondie and the Ramones played at CBGBs.

I myself can't bring myself to appreciate bluegrass music.
Unless it's being lipsynched by George Clooney -

I am a man of constant sorrow,
I've seen trouble all my day.

bluegrass is best appreciated on a porch, while drinking whiskey for breakfast, and smoking copious amounts of weed.

message 14: by Zowie (new)

Zowie | 8 comments That's what we do here in the Bluegrass State. Where George Clooney is from, I might add.

Ah, see, I don't have a porch. I have a stoop. And it's usually raining anyway, here in Oly WA. Not good porch weather.
I had no idea Clooney was from Kentucky. That is the Bluegrass State, right?

message 16: by Zowie (new)

Zowie | 8 comments Yes, KY is the Bluegrass state. We can claim Clooney and Johnny Depp. Tom Cruise went to high school for a while here as well. Although I'm not sure we want to claim him any more.
I love my city, although sometimes the rest of the state can frustrate/embarrass me. Believe it or not, there are well-spoken, educated, and down-right cool people with teeth here, although that doesn't seem to be our image.

I never liked bluegrass until I went to the Bluegrass festival in Anderson Alaska... It's like the Woodstock of Bluegrass. It was cool, expanded my musical tastes so I guess that was good. I still prefer the blues to bluegrass though.

I looovvve the blues. Especially Howling Wolf, to my surprise. I lived in Austin for awhile, where I discovered I loved Stevie Ray Vaughan, and I went from there.
But bluegrass, with all the twangy voices and twangy fiddles, sends me screaming to the stereo saying, dear god, change it to something with some bass!

There's a significant amount of kick ass bluegrass that gets played in Seattle area... usually on porches. Maybe someday you will trip and fall on some.

Yes, although it sounds like I've lost my chance to catch King Dinosaur performing.
