I'll be starting 2025 already behind on books/BRs...
I've done so much youtube watching and sleeping since Christmas, that I've gone from basically caught up to like 5 books behind...
Still need to read these December books:
Wind and Truth -- 70% remaining
He Who Fights with Monsters 2 -- 50% remaining
The Icarus Needle
Tea Set and Match
Miss Percy's Definitive Guide to the Restoration of Dragons
BuyMort: Bull Market Mayhem: How I Cornered The Multiversal Monopoly
Road Trip
Hope to finish HWFWM2 today, then knock out some of the shorter stuff tomorrow and New Year's Day, and be almost caught up again... I'm off New Year's Eve and New Year's Day this year...

My goal is to finish The first Rise and Fall Nolyn tomorrow.. And since I"m off I'm pretty sure I will :)
If I stay up for the next 23.5hrs, and listen nonstop, I can read everything I'm behind on except Winds & Truth... then crash and get no reading done on New Year's Day :D
that would also be like 2x by personal reading record... I don't think I've ever read more than about 48hrs in a day... listening for 16-17hrs straight at 3x speed...
24hrs at 3-3.5x speed is 72-84hrs of audio...

was mostly a joke... I listened for 75-90 minutes then went back to bed, and just got up at my regular time...
I'll be happy enough to read up to half the stuff I mentioned, if I have a good day and stop sleeping so much... feeling my old school Winter Hibernation Mode, lately...

Sadly bear hibernation and most hibernation is a myth... most animals thought to hibernate just torpor... hibernation lasts day/weeks/months (up to 100 days), and torpor lasts hours, up to 1-2 days, and is more involuntary, depending on temperatures and food supply...
I finally looked it up... I've known for awhile now that bear hibernation is myth that many people believe from being told by their parents/elders :D

Between the 2k pages I'm expecting to carry over into 2025, thanks to Winds & Truth mostly, and all the stuff I keep signing up for, I'm officially overbooked for January 2025... sounds about right... assuming I continue to average 600 pages/day, which is about my limit anyway, when low days balance out big reading days...

At 3-3.5x audio speed, I can listen to like 75-120+ pages/hr, depending on narration speed variation and page count to audiobook length variation... so 600 pages can be anywhere from 5hrs to 8hrs...
I listen to up to 2hrs of audio/day at work, up to 4-5hrs on Sundays... and then after work I can listen to more, if I don't go to bed early or watch a bunch of youtube...
So, I can maintain my average with decent consistency, with a bit of effort, and make up the difference on days off, when I get serious and listen all day while doing chores/errands/gaming, and listen to over 1000-1500 pages on a really good day or generous pagecount audiobooks...
The last 5 work days, I listened to under 300 pages/day, which is what tanked my December average from really good, down to 540 pages/day...
Today, tho, I've already listened to 760ish pages in the past 12hrs (including naptime and breaks), and can probably finish another 800 pages in the next 6-8hrs, thanks to a generous audiobook in Tea Princess Chronicles #2 (600 pages and only 12hrs of audio)

I might be able to do it if no one interrupts me for the next 5ish hours 😂
We'll see when I get tired today/tonight... I'll need to charge my device for a bit, after finishing my current book, before starting the next one that I may or may not finish before bed...
About done with Cat Core 3: Road Trip... last book of the year will be Tea, Set and Match...
From my list a few days ago, I also finished HWFWM2 & read Miss Percy 3 today...
Going into 2025 with Wind & Truth, BuyMort 5, and Icarus Saga 6... and then immediately have a bunch of BRs starting...

Youtube is my bane, lol... now that I've returned to it while my device is charging, I kinda just want to keep watching, and leave Tea Princess for tomorrow :D

I'm probably done reading today, too... can just wind down, sleep, get up early, and earn 2025 points :D

That's mostly cause Nirkatze got functional again, and comments alot... and Yanique keeps catching up on making new threads :D
Imagine if we were serious in multiple groups... I mostly only have notifications active for this group, and a few specific threads in a 2nd group, and nothing else...

Reading-wise, I'm on par for the year so far... 8-9 books and 600-700 pages per day so far, for 2025, depending if I finish the book I'm currently reading tonight...
Are you one of the people that tried all the tricks we listed a few weeks ago, that worked for some other people?... logging into new browser/mobile device, and changing settings there rather than default browser... off and on, in account settings:

Lol, sure just blame it on Nirkatze xD
Luckily I really only have this group to keep up with!
I'm about on par with December reading... Will probably go downhill after next month though
I'm on vacation this week, and commenting alot too, all day... my bad :D
Luckily, my comments don't flood my notifications.......................

Heh, lucky for you :D
Also, I need you guys to hold my feet to the fire this year :D
Not regarding books read... more about keeping up with ratings/reviews... I have a bad habit of letting them pile up for 10 months... I'd like to fall no more than 1 month behind this year, so at the beginning of each month, if anyone that's my GR friend could say something like "When you gonna write them January reviews, Iain?"... maybe I'll be better at not letting it get crazy this year... I can't remember the last time I kept on top of it all... definitely back when I read 50-25% as much as I do these days...
