WIP Library discussion

"I wanted to be free," I thought as I sat in the castle where I now worked as a servant. It had been a few days since my fifteenth birthday, and I felt like I had everything I wanted, but deep down, I knew that wasn't true. I had managed to get a job at the castle, a place where everyone seemed to want to work but few were hired. Sometimes, I regretted getting this job. Perhaps, if I hadn't, I would be free by now. However, now the king and queen were in charge of my fate. I sighed and looked around at the lush green garden, a sharp contrast to the drab, brown dead grass in my hometown.

"Lucky," I muttered, my first words spoken in days. I was stuck washing the royals' clothing, instead of cooking and possibly getting leftovers. I received only scraps of food instead of full meals like my mother used to try and give me as a child.
