YA book read between 2014-2023. Fake dating troupe. Secret crush. One girl in group of guy friends. Her best friend wants a girlfriend but the girl he likes won’t date him unless she has a boyfriend. The girls best friend convinces her to fake date their mutual friend who happens to be her crush. I think the story might take place in the Pacific Northwest. The girl and the friend who she fake dates secretly have a crush on each other. I think he might play a sport. She is an artist. She has journals from every year they have known each other with drawings of him in them. She gives him her journals to prove her feelings for him. I think one of her friends is named Ace and /or Joey. Her crush joined their friend group around the start of high and he told she was dating her best friend so he never shared his feelings for her.

Details update: I think the FMC and the "fake" boyfriend go to a school dance together and her male best friend tries to kiss her thinking that he has feelings for her. She turns him down for her "fake" boyfriend. The friend Ace has a girlfriend and he sits with her at lunch so the FMC doesn't have to leave the lunch table with the rest of their friends because there isn't enough room for them all. FMC chooses the "fake" boyfriend and they stay together.
