Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments I thought Simon was one of the nest characters, all the best stuff happens to him.

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments He gets turned into a rat first, and becomes a vampire because he then bit one whilst he was a rat didn't he?

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments Haha. Such a Simon hater.

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments I don't like Jace or Clary or Alec for the same reason I don't like Twilight, they are moody and one dimensional, not much effort has been made in creating the characters, it's like she took them off the "aaaaaw ain't they cute" shelf. Whereas Simon, Bane and Isabelle are characters that give you a laugh and seem to develop as the books go along.

Jaina | 82 comments As time goes on, you'll learn to like Simon even though he IS really annoying and clingy in the beginning. Unfortunately, I think Clare really followed the bandwagon with the love triangle in TMI.

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments I think one of the reasons I like the lunar chronicles so much is because there are no characters like Jace.

I've never read the Lunar Chronicles. Is it similar to TMI?

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments Not really, give it a go, it's base on Cinderella but in the future.

That's true. He's more of a third wheel, but have you started to like him yet? Isn't he getting a little better?
What book are you on, by the way?

Jaina | 82 comments Haha yyyyeah... Simon's kind of a coward. Can't say I think he's the most admirable person but I still liked him. He honestly doesn’t deserve either of them. x)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments I found that funny, not used to girls and he has two of them. Definitely the best character.

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments Give him time, I'm sure he'll win you over.

Jaina | 82 comments You don't like Harry Potter??? :o

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments I don't have an issue with him, its more with the books, a bit like 50 shades of grey, how can something sop badly written be considered so good.

Jaina | 82 comments I never knew hating Harry Potter was even a thing! That's really interesting. What didn’t you like about the writing?

It is like a child has written some fan fiction. It feels lazy and not research at all. Rowling has barely put any effort into it and yet we are commanded to love it, even worship HP.

The only good thing to come out of this is that it has got kids into reading... for a while.

I did give the book a serious go but couldn't stomach it.

Which is your favorite?

At least you tried it. I guess there's nothing that's for everyone.
I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I feel like you would like Game of Thrones. Have you read it?

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments I have tried book 1 twice now of game of thrones and find it boring. I think the furthest I have reached is page 175. I will try again soon as I have it in the challenge as my book I've started but not finished. I also don't think much of the TV series, so far I have reached episode 9 of series 1.

I do like these sorts of books so it is odd I hate this one. It might be that I have an instinct to hate books that everybody says you have to read.

Jaina | 82 comments The book was kind of a blur. I agree that it was pretty boring, but some people really enjoyed it.
I remember season 1 episode 9 pretty vividly. It's one of my favorite episodes. I guess different strokes for different folks. :)
I used to hate a lot of popular things too! I don't know what changed, to be honest.

Jason (jasondenness) | 1426 comments You became assimilated into the collective. I'm still bravely fending them off.

Jaina | 82 comments Haha! There are a lot of popular things I still don't like. x) Only if they're really bad.
