The story begins in Seattle over twenty years ago where we are introduced to someone named Billy but is using the name Benji, trying to get an “in” with an outlaw biker named Linc Shore. It then pivots to present day. Did you remember to “park” this info for later connection? Think at the time it might relate to Gretchen?

Yes, I did! I figured that Billy was an undercover agent of some kind and I went back to reread that chapter a few times while reading the rest of the book. I had no clue how he was related, but knew Billy and the situation were.

This seems to be Regan's formula on how she starts her books, and I find it very effective for drawing me into the story and wondering how it all relates.

Yes, I did as well being that the name was unfamiliar and wanted to know how it tied in. I originally thought it would just lead to him being an old work partner.

That prologue was so vivid it stuck with me until I could make some connections. I figured it had something to do with Gretchen but no clue how.
