Prior to starting questions:- A goal of mine this year is to join more buddy reads :)
- Yes, I read the first one in 2024 and wanted to continue the series.
Hmm... this is not doing anything for me at all. It feels too disjointed, and the story isn't really coming together for me, although I'm about 25% in. And the more Lucas is revealed, the less I like him. The clincher for me was, "Lucas grinned at her and thought that maybe she was carrying a few too many pounds, but maybe that wasn't all bad." Wow, thank you so much!I'm DNFing this book and series. Thanks for whoever suggesting this... I'm always happy to read new authors and characters! I know I won't love all of them.

I haven’t gotten to this yet. Meant to get to the library today but a few days ago, we experienced mass flooding in the area and I just haven’t been out. I have books to pick up though so I am aiming for Tuesday and will start this soon.
I've finished it. I liked it and the series so far. I like the toughness of it but I can see that it would not be to everyone's taste.
I’m almost finished with this book and I am not enjoying it either. I really liked the first one and had the series recommended to me many times. This one makes me not want to keep going. I guess I will try the third book just to see but holy cow, this one just wasn’t good. And the fat shaming! Even from another female character! Shameful and disgusting.

It’s literally EVERY time this character is talked about. Great, we got it, you think this character is chubby, thanks for letting us know 8 million times 😒
Half of the participants of this read have dropped out. Will the rest of you let me know if you are still planning to continue this series next month? Thanks!
I'm still continuing. I like it. It's really tough and gritty and I like that the characters are not "really nice". Even if everyone else drops out I will probably continue.
I will keep this on the list for May for now but will keep an eye out to see if others drop out or don't respond.
