What did you think? Remember to put spoilers behind a spoiler tag!😉 (Let us know if you need help with using spoiler tags.)

1. Who was your favorite character?

2. Who was your least favorite character?

3. If you could change one part of the book, what would it be? (Spoiler?)

4. What did you think of the ending? (Spoiler tags, please!)

5. What was your overall opinion?

1. Who was your favorite character?

Oh, my word! Who *wasn't* a favorite? It's so hard to pick one, so here's a list: Finnian, Markham, Torva, Iona, and Jakim (Two of the MCs didn't make the list, but they will in the next book.🥰)

2. Who was your least favorite character?

The twisted ones, of course: Sahak and Khilamook. Also, Glyndwr, Rhodri, and Astra

3. If you could change one part of the book, what would it be? (Spoiler?)

The pace with Ceridwen and Jakim at some point in the middle is a little slow, so improving the pace for them would have been good. But honestly, it didn't bother me so much as not having a map to keep track of the different countries and chiefdoms.

4. What did you think of the ending? (Spoiler tags, please!)

I am still smiling about the last line of the epilogue.🤭

Seriously, it was a great set up for the next book! The story isn't over, but it didn't feel like a cliffhanger somehow. I highly recommend Of Sea and Smoke.

5. What was your overall opinion?

This is one of the best Christian fantasy series I have ever read!

1. Who was your favorite character?
Ceridwen or Finnian

2. Who was your least favorite character?
Sahak. I also really dislike Astra. Spoiler: ‼️‼️(view spoiler) ‼️‼️ End of Spoiler

3. If you could change one part of the book, what would it be? (Spoiler?)

Hmmm. It felt too fast paced in the beginning but I think that was mostly because I didn't know what was going on. So a map and character glossary or something in the ebook would be great.

4. What did you think of the ending? (Spoiler tags, please!)
Oh my... that last line. *chills*

It was good. Yeah like Sharon said it didn't feel like a cliffhanger but it also left stuff open for book 2.

5. What was your overall opinion?

Really great book! I think I'll definitely enjoy it even more on a reread because I'll know what's going on so I'll be able to put all my energy in getting to know and love the characters.

Yayyy!🥰 Yeah, that last line was the best!🤩

Mary Emma Sivils | 638 comments 1. Who was your favorite character?

Probably Rafi. But I enjoyed Ceridwen, Finnian, and a lot of other characters!

2. Who was your least favorite character?

There were a lot of horrible bad guys, of course, but man, Nef got on my nerves. 😑

3. If you could change one part of the book, what would it be? (Spoiler?)

I’d give the main characters more backstory.

4. What did you think of the ending? (Spoiler tags, please!)

Exciting, but a little abrupt.

5. What was your overall opinion?

A strong beginning to the series! A little more worldbuilding would be nice in the next book, as I still feel like I’m getting to know everything. I enjoyed the multiple POVs giving the reader a chance to watch the story unfold from different perspectives. The concept of the solborn is really cool, too!
