Mayor Monique Brewster offers Sam the deputy chief job but she turns it down. Should she have taken it?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Like Sam said to the mayor, she would hate the desk work, the political BS and not being on the street. For Sam, this is just not what she wants to do. This was the right decision for her.

It was a ridiculous offer for inside politics. Two jumps up in rank is unheard of and it would have rankled those in the department, even those who didn’t have issues with her.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments It would have made the job untenable for Sam. At a time, she needs all the help she can get this would have made everything a lot harder to deal with.

It would have gotten her off the street but that is the only positive thing about it.
