Are you changing your buying behavior because of the tariffs? Are you stocking up on imported items? Do you own a small business and what is your business strategy - are your supply chains interrupted?

I bought jeans last summer so I'm good for jeans for awhile. I don't really need other clothes at this time. Yesterday I stocked up on birthday cards. I've been stocking up on pens for a couple years, I may buy even more. (Gel pens, Sharpies, that kind of thing. Nice Japanese pens.) I bought a bunch of extra coffee recently. Bought a French press. Last month I bought two pairs of sneakers to join my other four pairs.

A lot of books are printed in China. Book prices are gonna rise along with everything else. Thank goodness toilet paper is made in the U.S., I can't deal with another TP shortage.

Phil | 11837 comments I've found that when I stock up on things they go to waste. My buying habits haven't changed (yet), but I don't buy much anyway, so...

I did buy a new washer & dryer earlier this year, knowing tariffs were coming. I also bought another washer & dryer for a new rental property. I also bought a new pre-tariff robot vacuum, as the old one was quite easily confused.

"Trump officials are hoarding supplies over shortage fears, Rolling Stone reports."

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 3594 comments U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and chief trade negotiator Jamieson Greer will meet China's economic tsar He Lifeng in Switzerland this weekend for talks that could be the first step toward resolving a trade war disrupting the global economy.

Trumpy tariffs at work.
