I started it yesterday and I'm almost halfway through by tonight. It's really fun so far -- it's giving me big Murderbot vibes.

Sounds great!

Rebecca | 401 comments That’s great Kalin. This book has a long waitlist at my library (still 11 weeks, eek), so I may join late.

LOVE Murderbot. So now I am excited. Have 3 other books first though

Finished. Loved it. The author cites Martha Wells as an influence in the acknowledgements so hey, I wasn't wrong about the Murderbot vibes!

I think this is getting my top vote for the Hugo -- though I still have two more to read (assuming I can get The Tainted Cup somehow.)

I've started it. I haven't read the blurb, so while I guessed that the setting is more technologically developed, it was a nice surprise.

I'm 20% thru, yes definitely Murderbot vibes but it is both grimmer and surprisingly pettier. Plus some small anachronisms if this is a 'medieval setting' - I fully agree that an author can shape their world any way they want but like (view spoiler)

@34%, my hidden comment has to be amended, based on new info, but its main message remains

Rebecca | 401 comments Miraculously this came off hold (must be a lot of folks delaying their holds!) and I'll start it once I'm done with Firewalkers.

message 11: by Stephen (new)

Stephen Burridge | 228 comments So this won the Nebula. I’ve been skeptical but I’ll read it when my library hold comes through.

I've read 4 of the 6 Nebula titles including this one, and I didn't find the field very strong. This was probably 3rd of 4 for me.
