Kyle | 898 comments A thread to discuss Yael van Der Wouden's novel "The Safekeep."

Kyle | 898 comments This is.... quite the horny book. To the degree that I look at the pears on the cover and think "damn you two, calm down already"

Kyle | 898 comments Okay, having finished the book, I can say there's more under the surface than just Sapphic clinches. (Which I'm not opposed to! But the middle third of the book was a lot of that.)

message 4: by Jason (new)

Jason Perdue | 688 comments I really enjoyed this one. I can see why it didn't make the tob, but it's a romance with as Kyle says a lot more going on. very sexy

message 5: by McKenzie (new)

McKenzie | 14 comments I loved this. Like Trespasses (which I think was in last year’s ToF?), the sparse descriptions and deep characterization lent themselves to a deeper story beneath the romance.

Care (bkclubcare) | 196 comments This is almost two different books or like walking into a room that is supposed to be one thing and then turn around - hey! it's a different room! I felt bewildered.

Dianah (onourpath) (fig2) | 340 comments oh, I loved this one; so exquisitely done -- I raced through every page.

Kat's Bookshelf (kats_bookshelf) | 21 comments I started out actively disliking Isabel and Eva. I appreciated Isabel as the neurospicy individual that I think she most likely is, but I still didn't like her as a character. and yet, by Part II. I could not put this book down!

I ended up really enjoying this book. I also appreciate the history lesson it gave.
