How much reading did you do over the weekend? What were you reading? When and where did you read? Was this a typical weekend in terms of reading for you?

Henk | 85 comments I finished listening to Nuclear War: A Scenario by Annie Jacobsen on Saturday and read an e-book based on a lecture by David Mitchell while traveling on the tube. I started in The Other Name: Septology I-II by Jon Fosse in audio during the gym on Sunday. Also am reading Valerie; or, The Faculty of Dreams by Sara Stridsberg as a bedside table book.

It is fairly typical for me to be busy in multiple books at once, in different formats. I keep track of observations and quotes through the notes app of my phone to retain information, and keep the books separate in my mind.

Franky | 203 comments Weekends I try to use as a way to catch up more on reading if I have time. So I was making progress on the high fantasy The Eye of the World The Eye of the World (The Wheel of Time, #1) by Robert Jordan by Robert Jordan. I also like to try to do a review or two on weekends if I have time.

It ended up being a busy weekend (since I had procrastinated on some Mother's Day gifts and we were celebrating an aunt's 80th birthday), so less reading than normal. And very little fiction (also, unusual for me). I ended up mostly reading New Yorker articles, but did read a little bit of Medusa by Nataly Gruender Saturday and Sunday evenings just before going to sleep.

Emmeline | 191 comments I tried to blast ahead in Emile Zola's Germinal, which I'm reading with another group. I also had my in-person book club, where we sat outside in the beautiful weather and discussed The Wren, The Wren.

Hope you enjoy the Wheel of Time! Are you watching the Prime video series? I am actually happily surprised by the series and would recommend it.

I am almost finished (almost to page 600), and I am really enjoying it. I have been on a fantasy/sci-fi kick over the course of the past year so this fits in nicely. I'm already planning on getting the next book in the series too. I admit I hadn't even heard of this series until it popped up on one of my recommendations. I haven't watched The Eye of the World miniseries videos yet, but I saw that there were some pretty tepid reviews for it which put me off a little. I'm glad you liked it. Maybe I'll check it out.
