She worked on some important cases overseas fir the CIA, including the controversial search for Weapons of Mass Destruction under George W Bush.. This was one of the more important and eye opening topics in the books. She later took a job with the FBI to allow her to spend more time in the states and build a personal life. Her time at the CIA was much more interesting. In comparison, the FBI training process seemed more similar to high school. Her trainers continually made snide and petty remarks about the CIA and let others think she made it all up. She was not always popular with her peers, but she did well enough to earn important placements, She was generous in praising people and programs she respected, but less so with others.

The book contained many redacted parts, from a person’s name, a location, or even whole sections. This felt rather cute at the beginning, as we were meant to wonder about classified operations and undercover agents. Later it seemed odd though because of all the important details that were allowed to remain. Some stories seemed intended to be funny, some colleagues were made fun of, and there were a few stories with an “Ick” factor that I would have left out. I can only hope some of the names were fictitious. I’m curious what reactions the book got from former colleagues,

I really enjoyed hearing about the job she took at a school years later. It was creative, interesting and even inspiring,
