Sergeant Miller fails to tell Nikki that Madison Malone, one of the murder victims, is the stepdaughter of John Banks, her boyfriend at the time of her parents’ murder, until the moment before they do the notification. After meeting him, she has an emotional reaction in the bathroom, swarmed by past memories. What did you make of this at the time?

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I thought her reaction was normal. She hadn't seen John in years and seeing him again brought everything back to her.

I agree, Robin. It brought all the bad memories flooding back & threatened to overwhelm her. It also started bringing back bits and pieces of her recessed memory of that night. It was a lot to deal with.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I agree with both of you. Nikki was skilled at burying her past and everything related to her parents' death. Seeing John broke down all those walls and pulled all those past events and emotions to the surface.

Jo Ann (jojog) | 104 comments Agree with you all.

Moondance (moondance120) | 23 comments Agree! I'm sure seeing him brought back so many memories of her youth and that terrible night.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1803 comments Nikki was being forced to confront her past. I'm not surprised that she has a visceral reaction.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments I'm in the same camp as the rest of you.

It’s been twenty years and she’d buried all those feelings. She had no time to prepare and this is what that looks like.
