August 2025 Tasks


One Point Tasks

1.1 Annual Perseid Meteor Shower
Read a book with the word STAR(S) -or- stars on the cover -or- set in space.

1.2 Dog Days of Summer
Read a book with a dog on the cover -or- set during the summer (show cover).

1.3 National Watermelon Day
Read a book that predominantly GREEN, RED, or BLACK cover (60%+ - show cover).

1.4 Main Page Genre (MPG)
Choose One:

a. Kiss and Make Up Day
MPG: ROM COM

b. Senior Citizens Day
MPG: ELDERLY

1.5 Read the Alphabet: Letter M
Read a book that starts with the Letter M (exclude A, An or The) -OR- Author's FIRST/LAST name begins with the Letter M.
BONUS POINT: Book Title & Author's FIRST/LAST name both have the Letter M.

1.6 National Banana Split Day
Read a book that predominantly YELLOW, BROWN -or-PINK (60%+ - show cover).

1.7 (Amber's Task) Birthdays Day
August 6th I have 3 very important people's Birthdays. My niece will be 13. It's also my uncle and a close friend's birthday.
Read a book with MPG Middle Grade or where the MC has a family member or friend group as part of the story.

1.8 (Amber's Task) Back to School
It's time for schools in my area to start their new year.
• Read a book with a teacher or student in the story. Tell us their name.

1.9 (Tessa's Task) This Little Light of Mine
I was just in Texas for my niece's baby shower, the theme of which was "This Little Light of Mine, I'm Gonna Let Her Shine."
• Read a book with a light on the cover. (Can be natural, like the sun, or man-made light a street light or lamp.)

1.10 (Bethany's Task) So Much to Do!
August means I have to go back to work! Sadly, less time to read, so read what you consider a quick read. It could be short or just really gripping--whatever made you read it fast!
