Hey friends! Just a quick note about the readerboard and task verification process — it’s something we work really hard to keep updated, never more than 50 behind, and running smoothly, but it does take a good chunk of time, especially when things come in all at once.

If you’ve got a big stack of tasks to post, try to break it up a bit if you can. Posting more than 10-15 tasks at once can really slow everything down and makes it much harder to get everyone’s points and updates handled in a timely way. A few at a time is no problem, but large batches can back things up and delay corrections for everyone.

Also when posting it helps us mods SO MUCH if you do them in numerical order (5.1, 5.9, 15.1, 20.5, etc)

We appreciate your understanding and your kindness toward the mod team — we truly want this to be smooth and fair for all of you!
Thanks so much!

Marie (UK) (mazza1) | 3940 comments I have thought long and hard about this post over the time since you raised the problem.

I admit to being one of those who post many tasks at once. I do this because I move books around constantly. If i did not do this I would be posting many more times to unclaim and reclaim tasks.

I don't know how changing my way of posting would help the moderators, - essentially last season only about 50% of my books stayed where I originally allocated them.

I am grateful for the work that you do but I cannot see how we can work alongside one another if I have to post only a certain number of tasks at a time.

This will be my last SRC I have had a great time in the last 10 years and applaud the mods for all the work they do I would not want to run this group. I will keep an eye on the tasks in the future because they do direct my reading into new and interesting reading but I won't be posting. Thanks for the reading memories and good luck in the future

I do get what you are saying, however even if you wait until after you read them all, you can still space them out afterwards.

All the rules and the changes and requirements we make are only to keep the group going smoothly as a whole. We are wanting to keep the group going and not stress the mods out in the process.

Thanks for posting your thoughts. I think hearing other people's points of view. It's very helpful.

Marie, as a fellow longtime SRC participant, I am sorry you are leaving. I have enjoyed the tasks you have created every season. You will be missed. I hope you will reconsider, perhaps after taking a brief time off.

thanks Lois I think I just need a time out - a little less stressful and slower reading to really enjoy my books again.
