Clover Brooks is a death doula. Since the death of her parents when she was 5 she has been curious about death and its rituals often feeling like an outsider and loner for her interest. In College she did research on the rituals in various cultures, including a year of study abroad. At the end of her year she gets notified in Cambodia about her Grandpa’s sudden death. She is unable to forgive herself for not being home when it happens. Shortly after she turns to this career to make others feel peaceful and not alone at their death. This story is based around her association with Claudia, a 91 year old woman with a couple months to live.

Claudia stirs something in Clover that makes her start questioning her small life and what she may regret at her own end. At 36 it is time to look at her life. A beautiful story with a clear understood look at a woman living a fearful, tightly controlled life awakening to the truths of her existence.
